Now note not claiming the OP is making that claim but in my opinion veterans ranks should not be removed.
The main complaint from this system is having multiple characters, so instead of removing it when your secondary account hits level 10 you should get an option to skip to your highest leveled characters level. This I'm my opinion is better than out right removing the Veteran ranks.
At least when VR is replaced with Champion points, you'll only have to do the grind to end-game once since it'll be account-wide. Then if you feel like making another character to try a new class or something, you'll just have to get to level 50 and then it'll be equal in power to your highest level character and you'll be able to start doing whatever you intended to do with that new character right away.
Seriously don't see what the problem is OP.
In less than a month I took a new character from start (and I mean 0 CP's also) to VR16 (and oh BTW 200 CP's) on my second account.
Oh, and NEWS FLASH...I'm not a very good player, nor do I spend all day grinding my a$$ off. In fact I actually do the quests.
If you have read these forums, you would know that ZOS plans to replace VR's with (around) a 10 CP per VR equivalent. In other words, once ONE of your characters has about 160 CP's...ALL of your other characters will be able to equip "endgame" gear. Are you happy now?
OR...
Would you like for ZOS to actually level you characters for you ALSO?
Come on...really?
Lol. I just read this is "wah! I wanna be max level without any more effort". Don't worry when VR are levels get removed you'll get your participation trophy.

There is a market for fully leveled accounts I believe. A friend of mine reckons he can sell his 4x v16, all classes, 500cp account for $500. The mind boggles.

VR ranks will be replaced with champion points it seems.

That's similar to what's happening with CP, hit level 50 and your character is the same level as any other max level on your account up to CP 160

You'll be very starved of skill points if you play like that. You might have just about enough for 1 build per char though.
Veteran ranks was the best part, so much more freedom. The fact that zos are planning on removing them is a dumb decision I believe.
I dont want dcuo where you get to a low level that never ever increases just to wait in ques all day to run the same content just for some BS skill point system nonsence.
Its just not that hard. I did every quest, cleared every zone map minus dungeons (I dont do group play much but I did do the dolmens and world bosses) and, without grinding one single minute, I got to vr16 quickly. I had fun doing it too. Which helped a lot I didnt watch my xp bar, I just played. M

I can't play 8 hours a day and I don't even feel the fun of the game because I just want to get to end game. End game can have multiple levels and can take long to get top gear its ok, but all that just to get to end game is insane.
There is no point of trying to get good gear since the next VR it will be weak and this has really demotivated me no fun in gear grinding or crafting.
When will VRs be removed already? I want to get back into this game.
So you can't play a lot (which sucks, I understand that) but you want veteran ranks removed so you can automatically be at the max level? That's what it's sounding like and if that's what you're saying then that's ludicrous lol. The sad part is that zenimax is listening FAR TOO much to people like you, casual gamers, and catering to you. That's why this game is slowly but surely headed down the crapper. If you have a single player game and you don't have a lot of time to play it, but you want to finish it so you can see how it ends, do you ask the people who made the game to cut out parts of the game so you can get to the end faster?

Yep, exactly what I'm doing as well. Started my new character in August or so like the OP and have been playing rather casually. I'm a completionist at heart and have been doing the Caldwell's Silver/Gold quests plus any quests I run across. I'm trying to do all the quests in every zone for the achievements and never leave a zone until I do so. And oh, when I see a fishing hole, I try to stop to fish between quests. I do want that angler achievement eventually.
By the time I finish up Caldwell's gold, I will be V14. Then I'll venture into some dungeons, do Orsinium and perhaps a bit of PvP for the first time in the game. Heck haven't even see Crag? yet. I still have skyshards to find, delves to complete and just have fun along the way. I think the key is to have fun along the way and not watch that experience bar obsessively. I watch a few folks in my various guilds moan and moan about vet levels and how awful they are. Sure, I can see them getting frustrated on alts and having to do Caldwell's silver/gold multiple times but getting frustrated on a first character when there is so much to see and do.........
I'm not sure what to think about vet rank removals. I'm sure that when they are gone, folks will complain about the CP system as well.
I was against vr ranks but not for the same reasons as u OP. I firmly believe that finishing all story quest and cadwells should put you at max level but as it stands it dosent. It only takes you to v10 if I remember correctly. On my first toon I did everything. Every marker explored, every delve, public dungeon, lore book, hell I even had tamriel sky shard hunter with all of craglorn non-forced group content cleared solo. To much of my horror, I noticed I was still 4 full vr ranks from max level (v14 was max back then). So I did what I had to do and grinded by mass pwning zombies and it was the most harrowing and unfun thing I had to do.
