Unfortunately this....
More and more this game just seems to be about how much money ZOS can make off us while we're still willing to play and pay.
I do hope I am wrong however because I really do like this game.
They just seem not to care about what we the players want or have to say about the game.
I would absolutely take console text chat over player housing or a barber shop. I would even take it over the DLC recently released.
If they didn't care they wouldn't even listen to us.

The response is in the two ESO live episodes in my sig but this summer they also confirmed no change which means what was shared in the past still stands.
No

It is a no for now, it was not supposed to be added at first and it's not on their top priority list. Yet I watched every single ESO live episodes and I never heard something like "We will never add text chat to the console version" but heard a lot of "We listen to the community feedback" and "Never say never".
It may not come up with a classic chat window, but ZOS are aware of the requests, they will enventually add a way to efficiency text chat in the future. I won't keep asking for it.
They said they will add voice chat to the pc version so why not text chat to the console version? After all, there is no need for voice chat for the pc players who can already use it via teamspeak, etc. :P
Probably not. But who knows?
Come to PC. Come to the dark side. We have cake and 60FPS.

Just the console nature and they know it. I for one will not group up if they cannot speak. Sometimes play with some french guys who speak no engrish at all but still the message gets across. Waiting on text isn't something anyone wants to do when the going gets tough.
I mean no disrespect, but why even play MMO on consoles?
I get it for kids and players who plays 30 minutes before getting bored,....but ESO without keyboard and mouse?
When they announced ESO for consoles, I thought it was some small battleground version of Cyro, like Fallout shelter for pands.
I know consoles are 10 times bigger then PC And get all the love, but, MMO, without keyboard?
The PC game cost less, got way more control, don't require a new "box" if you don't have the latest model, or a Microsoft subscription?
Add to that, you have the option to use a gamepad or mouse on PC, and whatever voice chat you wish?
And oh, addons.....
Someone educate me why you choose the consoles over PC?

I have Erb's Palsy and can't play with keyboard and mouse
Edit: Plus I have damaged nerves in my leg so I need to lay out now and then. My Erb's causes me all kinds of grief so sitting at a PC is pretty painful. However, in the new year we are hoping to create a set up so I can game at a PC, with a gamepad, in comfort ^_^'

It's not about communicating with players in the dungeon. Voice is clearly better for that in most cases. It's about a smoother experience looking for players to run dungeons with. Text chat allows for better mass communication, and solves issues that voice simply cannot.

I am not a console player, nor any plans to be one. I REALLY hope you guys get text chat!

I fully understand ZoS for selling as many copies as possible, and the more the better for the whole ESO.
But, can someone please educate me why you choose the consoles over PC?
"-Hi, I want to pay more, to get less functions and options, and be forced to pay another company then ZoS for a subscription?"
*scratch head*
Is the community cooler on consoles? Do you get more time off work? Wut?
The nerves in my arm are broken so I cannot move it certain ways and it doesn't have good flexibility. It's why the nerves in my leg are broken, because I couldn't grab anything to save myself falling down a flight of stairs
Yeah, I edited my post to say we're looking at a set up in the new year. It just needs to have adaptions is allStupidly, I also suffer from heart and head trouble so using a headset isn't always a good idea. So I'll need a small one handed keyboard to use text chat. If they exist?

its cheaper. I pc gamed for over 20 yrs and spent 10s of thousands on upgrades and rigs. On console I bought the console the game and the dlcs. I dont have to upgrade my console every few months. My 5k dollar computer is in its box in the closet.

Well I can only speak for myself on this, but when I was little I didnt own a computer, but my father always had some kind of console, to which he introduced me as well. It became familiar, something normal and far easier for me. If I try to play a game on the PC, I find it much harder and have no sense of familiarity. I know it doesnt take long to get used to it, I use my PC for gaming as well, BUT consoles have always been there in my life, and thats what I am used to, it is just way more comfortable for me, even if it seems hard to understand for a pc gamer.
I also dont use my console to play only for 30 minutes, I play up to 9-11 hours a day sometimes, and it is very comfortable xD.
So to put it shortly, maybe sometimes its also because people simply feel familiar with it.
I had all the AC games on console, LOVED IT - played one on PC - hated the way it felt, and I even have a controller for the PC. Same with Skyrim, had it on both PC and console, yes on the PC I have all the mods, but nothing was beating my PS3 feel xD.
