Is there a way to filter messages of just one player in the chat?

Hallo guys, sorry for a noob question, but is there a way to filter the messages of just one player in the chat?
I use pchat addon too. But I can`t find it there somehow.
It would be great to have this option, as there are too many messages at once popping up and when I am replying or searching for a specific message from one specific player, it gets kind of messy there.

yes but I mean when someone says something and it is few minutes up and I want to find it, there should be an option, filter by player, to see only the messages from that particular player. Is it not there?
or for example I am searching for a group in the chat, I write a lfg message, one player replies that he wants to group. then I wait for other people to join or other posts about lfg. I want to find then the player who first wrote the reply, cant do it, because there are tons of posts incomming there.
@ZOS_GinaBruno there should be a "filter by player", "filter by guild" , "filter by key words" (for example - filter "lfg" post, filter "lfg tank" post, filter "lfg healer" posts, filter "lfg silver" posts - option in the chat window!
Why is this basic feature not in the chat pls
?

✭As far as I know this cannot be done in the 'plain' chat interface, and even addons can only add so much... like colour coding for each guild and stuff like that.
I second the suggestion above to make a chat tab just for whispers, as it helps finding these messages more easily (specially if you are in chatty guilds, groups, and zones).PC-EU0 -

✭That would be awesome if this would work in the chat. It happens fairly often that I answer something to a person which didn't even ask lol ..
It would already help a lot if we could change the text color of each friend, at least. F.e. having a color palette (which would open when you click on it) next to their names in the friends list.

I was checking out this TOM addon yesterday, but then I had two chat windows open, the regular one and this TOM one.

Is there a way to turn of the chat box permanently (or at least to automaticly turn off when I dont react)? So that I just use this TOM addon window?

✭/yell makes your text show in red (by default) to everyone in the area.
I do not know any commands to message all your friendslist though... maybe there's an addon for that? Like the addons some guilds use to email all members. Sorry I can't help with addons, I use close to none...PC-EU1 -
