fix for this combo?

Okey so since Sypher said in his podcast what a NB can do with cloak - ambush - suprise attack, tooooo many people are doing this. Taking a huge chunk of your health (or stamina) then fear and lose more resources and high likely die. Which is the case for a Templar or a DK most of the times because they can't like stack anything or escape.

If there is one NB doing this, there's no fight anymore. 1vX is impossible because of them. And they just go on a killstreak like that. It's amazing how much it happens, I almost want to avoid NBs now because I know what's going to happen.

It's really hard to counter, and I know it is possible, but when in a 1vX situation it's just hopeless.

I really don't mean to nerf NB, but this is more of a fix. And for me quite important since it just ruins the gameplay more than an imbalance. And I really don't blame ZoS either, because bugs and such is just a big part of games whether we want it or not. But I do think it is possible to fix this. Or is it meant to be like this?

So you want nbs to be "fixed" (nerfed) because you can't 1vX against them?

Btw, what exactly do you want to see fixed? I can't see a big difference between ambush -> surprise attack -> fear and crit charge -> ransack -> petrify.

Do you know what the bug is actually? it's cloak then ambush then surprise attack. Nothing wrong with ambush and surprise attack.

better solution buff Templar and DKS so they can actually stand a chance and perhaps be able to do as well in malestorm as NB and Sorcerers.

I don't know, the issue I'm talking about here is no imbalance, not NB nerf, no DK or Templar buff. I'm just saying this combo which provides a bug which is really powerful for the NB using it. It doesn't have anything to do with imbalance. It's a mistake in game, which clearly needs to be taken of. Especially bugs like this before you start balancing.

Haha, every Nightblade does this combo. It's the bread and butter since I can remember. Ambush needs the silence removed I agree but...

What they really need to look at is Cloak, Heavy, Snipe, block, Ambush, light or block, Surprise Attack. These all get the from stealth bonus. It's guaranteed death especially with Camo or a macro. Only way round it is reduce the stealth bonus.

So cloak should only affect to next attack plus removing NB from steatlh. That's the issue here, nothing more.

I personally think the Ambush into Surprise Attack combo fit's the nightblade playstyle. Stealth game-play is very limited now that damage is so low. Nightblade's are ASSASSIN'S! So they should be able to get a couple attack's off and stun you, good player's will recover and heal making that initial attack useless.

In the end your asking for something that is still going to happen. Why? People with Ambush into Fear and get just as much damage out in the end.

I think Camo hunter does need some work. It should only have 1 proc from stealth (exception DW heavy attack, i have my reason's. Countered by RML and does as much damage as wrecking blow from stealth anyway).

Aye, a heavy or light attack will actually, NB skills don't. The only way I could land a combo like that is to block cancel rather than light, my fingers aren't quick enough but I'd get all those attacks benefitted from stealth then.

The issue is the time it takes to do the combo (esp. Macro) all of the hits can land before the cloak is cancelled. We're talking less than a second. The Ambush actually hits you before the Heavy attack and or Snipe! The Snipe and Suprise Attack hits roughly exactly the same time.

There's no way round it, you can't stop players from doing it or using macros. The only way is to nerf stealth bonus.

Definitely he doesn't know what you are talking about. I really hope that they will fix it cause 2 attacks from stealth are a lot.

Meh, that combo is so 2014...every good blade knows using sword and shield - Cloak/Ambush/animation cancel light attack - surprise attack - shield bash together is by far the strongest combo

High damage on single target is what the NB class is all about. It's like crying about getting ranged by a sorcerer.

No I don't. I've been using cloak -> snipe -> ambush -> sa for a long time on my nb now and never realized that it was bugged. Always felt similar to my other characters (apart form the fact that I can't use shadow image -> cloak to escape on my dk)

Okey so I'm just going to explain the bug, because I think it's becoming misunderstood this thread. Know that this is absolutely no nerf/buff or NB is OP or this combo is too strong thread. It's a bug, a really significant bug. There is nothing wrong with ambush, surprise attack or fear whatsoever. I didn't want to explain earlier so more people will do this, but if I don't explain then it's not really useful to make a post about it.

This bug happens when a NB cloaks, he goes into stealth for a few seconds. What happens when you use the combo cloak => ambush => surprise attack, is that when you ambush while in stealth, you will not get detected, you'll stay hidden but the increased damage from stealth does count. Then to make it even better when a NB uses surprise attack, it will ALSO get the stealth buff, plus the stun you get when you use this skill from stealth. So with this combo a NB stealths, teleports and does 2 huge hits while you get stunned, without the victim even knowing about it.

When I fight with my DK this happens a lot because there is nothing I can do about it. I have no decent counter either, no insta heal, if I block my stamina gets drained like crazy (which is why this combo is even more crazy) and then they use fear for the execution mostly, I have no shield stack, I have no mobility which becomes even worse when a NB ambushes you. (nothing wrong with that, but just to see there almost not much you can do about it). and blablabla I can keep going.

It is obvious this is a bug and one that affects the gameplay quite hard. It's just not fun when you're in a really good fight and suddenly you drop dead out of nowhere to see ambush + surprise attack hitting you for almost 20k together. And it happens a lot, and there's no way to see it coming.

So it's obvious this needs to be fixed, and then I mean the bug. Not the NB or any skill.

Its funny... You're talking about imbalance (and I agree with this, certain classes and builds could use a buff), but you want to be able to kill X enemies alone. It reminds be of early game dks, and its not balanced by any means.

I gave up on ESO PVP six months ago and never looked back. Haven't been to Cyrodiil since, never set foot in IC. Almost quit for good when IC came out.

Why? Because ZOS has shown they are INCAPABLE and/or UNWILLING to fix these type of exploits. One after another after another. There is industry standard anti-bot and anti-macro pattern recognition software they could license that reads for exact millisecond replication in attack sequences, but they won't buy it.

Instead we have a bunch of cheap arse cheaters bragging about how "my epeen stroking cheater macro is undetectable."

Yeah? Well congrats buddy. Your cheap arse failure ISN'T. I still laugh when I kill something and watch this fail templar fly through the air and execute a series of 3-5 attacks against a dead monster. Now THAT is skilled gameplay!

Fair and honest competition in ESO is a joke. Either you're an epeen stroking exploit/macro cheater or you're bait.
