Re-Customize Characters

I'd like to re-visit the topic of adding a means to change a characters appearance, race and gender. Really don't understand why we, at least, haven't seen an appearance change by now. Thanks!

I don't understand why they don't have it yet either. Huge cash cow just waiting for them to implement.

Also can I please change my race already? I have been playing a magicka healer with the worst racials ever for too long now.

They could easily implement it. They have lore of master face sculptors like the Faculty of Chirurgeons of Cloudrest and the Hollow Faced men of Nohotogrha . And they could have the face changer in all the outlaw safehouses. U
They could also offer a crown store version as well, but definitely have the lore versions available.

you do realize they already announced that they are working on a barbershop concept right?

For a cash shop type game, to not have paid appearance/name/race changes is just idiocy.

I would pay crowns for race changes in a heartbeat.

...and most likely, because -everything- they had been working on was basically put on hold for the console release, and only now after that they are working off the backlog. I mean, we had IC and Wrothgar announced a year ago, same with Barbershop, TG & DB... and only now after they got the console version done are they finishing those.

    So, it will come.

Logically, the early 2016 DLCs might be a good place to put it with... appereance changes would fit right in with prominent thieves or assassins having to change their looks to dodge the law, right?

But agreed, I too have a good few handful of crowns to spend on this... fixing small details on my characters that seemed all right in chargen, not so much in live game... a hip shape here, a hand shape there, a voice change here, a adornment adjustment there... hopefully a namechange or two as well...

No race change for me, but it seems likely they will add it to the recustomization options, too many people want this rather badly for them to say no to the extra profit...

Why does everyone want to change everything about their character? I've only had one character I would have changed. My first VR.I accidentally made him a blonde, when I wanted him to be a dark brown haired Nord. I've since deleted him.I've carefully worked my alts looks every time, and their name.I even like my classes.I dont just make a character without great thought.

As others have said they're more adjustments than changing everything. Some people start out as magika dps but later might wanna do stamina dps and racial bonus can make for an ideal min/max build come late game. There are lots of reasons but it's cool that your satisfied with your character.

Majorly anticipating the barber shop - appearance change. Not so much on the race/class changes. I mean - some things you just can't change within reason - and some choices should have consequences. However considering the time many of us invest with the game it will be a welcome change to adjust our character's physical appearance. Bring it on soon, ZOS!

Yea I don't expect the class/race changes to be available in the barber shop (I mean seriously, what are you smokin) but it would be nice if there was an in-game (RP) means of changing those, as well as gender, rather than just getting it in the Crown store.

Yea! I made a tiny old man magicka sorc and now I wanna try some stamina builds. I won't now because I can't get into the idea of being an old tiny man running around with huge 2 handed weapons lol. I'm Vet 16 with all achievements except Emperor and Fishing so starting over is a big nope for me.

Like I often post... I really do think the best way would be for them to...

...have a "barbershop" stand in every major city where you can buy "everyday" changes like haircut, makeup, adornments for a mere gold cost, and sell more options for those (hairstyle pack, epic beard pack, makeup pack, etc.) in the crown store, maybe even add some to achievements (wouldn't it be cool to have "tamriel prison tatoos" for justice system achievements?)...

...have one "plastic sorcery provider" hidden in an outlaw refugee or coldharbour where you can buy "structural" changes like avatar shape, skin color, voice and possibly gender as well as race for crown cost, and preferably not a flat rate to enter the modification screen, but a incremental "per slider moved" cost that is totaled and paid when pressing the "make it so" button...

...and have a recordkeeper clerk in your faction capital city you can "bribe" with a handfull of crowns to "update the official records" with a new name for your character...

And of course I really hope they might implement their character recustomization features something along those ideas.

The OP stated they only want to change these things:
    characters appearance, race and gender.
    They didnt mention stats,etc.
You can actually buy Stat changers in the crown store.

I never said anything about stats either, was talking about racial bonuses being ideal for certain builds as a reason why one may want to change their race; such as Imperial for stamina dps or Breton for magicka. And I know all too well what the OP posted since I AM the OP. ;)

I hope recustomization is not only limited to hairstyles though. Some Woodelf characters barely reach my hips and i'm WAY too bulky for a magicka sorcerer :(

As a long-time WoW player, I was excited as anything when they introduced the barber shop, allowing you to customise hairstyle/color, piercings/adornments and I believe there was something else you could pick. They updated it to allow full facial customisation but not skin colour. It took a few expansions before this was added and I know the coding behind it is more complex than "just implement it".

Considering other MMOs that let you re-customize at least some part of your character, I've no doubt they will do this but ESO is still kind of new. I reckon it won't be for awhile.

As others said, stats can be re-configured via the crown store purchase "Attribute Respecification Scroll" and "Skill Respecification Scroll".
