Most Beneficial Race for Stamblade & Magblade on One Character.

What race would be the most beneficial to choose if I want to be able to respec back and forth between stamina and magicka nightblade builds? Imperial? Dunmer?

After reading the abilities I have no idea why anyone would use bosmer for this purpose. Dunmer definitely seems like a winner, but if that "from stealth" attack damage bonus is important then a Khajiit with 2x Born Star definitely seems plenty viable for both setups.

I disagree. I think Dunmer is best, because you get max stamina and magicka.

That boost to healing and + max health fits very well into any NB build.

I'd say Imperial or Dark Elf. The Imperial if you think you'll mostly be playing Stamina and Dark Elf if you'll mostly be playing Magicka. You can make any race class combo work, but losing the stat bonuses from a particular race that supports you class is quite noticeable.

Imperial, 12% health is too good imo for all classes, and you need more stam as a magicka for roll dodge etc anyway.

My imperial templar switches between both, and does both really well.

Bosmer gives a large amount of stamina regen, wich is very beneficial for both stamina and magicka builds, and the damage bonus from stealth, again useful for either build.
With a stam Dunmer you are only really making use of 6% max stamina, wich isn't much, and as a magicka build you still don't use the extra fire damage.

Imperial would be better than Dunmer, but since you want stamina regen as a magicka build, not max stamina, Bosmer is preferable.

dunmer for both bonuses, and fire resistance (if your like stealthy playstyle with NB you will like dark stalker passive)

Since 1.6 the fire resist is only ~3% plus unless they changed that, it gets reduced by vamp fire weakness plus it's less relevant with the reduced fire weakness now anyway.

Thank you for that explanation. My ignorant self has only had time to play Sorcerer so far and had no idea of build/play mechanics for NB.

The obvious choice is Dunmer if you use fire spells (Sorcerer or Dragonknight), however, if you are inclined to be a Nightblade or a Templar I would consider Imperial. The health and stamina bonuses in addition to the health back mechanic are perfect for chopping and changing, but I'd say you really should create to characters two achieve the best setups in either. This is coming from a PvE perspective I should state.

As far as I've understood, the Dunmer comes second to Altmer in dealing elemental damage with a magicka build, including fire damage, can someone confirm?

Bosmer for stam regen and stealth bonus. The NB class needs stamina for stealth walking, breaking free and Dodge rolling.
Bosmer is the best race for hybrid builds for NB due to regen, this game makes use of stamina more than magicka.

Dunmer is a bad choice for stamina builds and imperial is second to hybrid builds compared to bosmer.

Not exactly.
Dunmer has a 7% damage increase from fire attacks only.
Altmer gets 4% in all elemental attacks, so fire, ice, lightning.

This makes dunmer first in elemental damage because fire staves are considered the best of the destro staff choices.

Altmer, however, are better choices for sorcs due to the lightning damage. A dunmer sorc is a waste of a racial passive.
