Templar - is a hybrid tanky dps with self heals build viable?

I'm returning to the game after a break and find that all my skills have been reset on my main, a VR12 Breton Templar. Before I rebuild I wanted to see what changes have happened to the class,. I've read all the patch notes, but it's hard to get an overview. So I have a few questions.

Formerly I ran a hybrid tank/dps build with points balanced fairly equally 18M 26H 16S. I used 5 Heavy 2 Light, 1h & Shield. My main skill bar was Puncturing Sweep, Repentance, Breath of Life, Deep Slash, Shield Charge. Second skill bar was either 2h (Wrecking Blow etc), Resto Staff (Radiant Destruction etc) or also 1h & Shield, depending on the content.

My question is, can a hybrid build like this still work or is it now essential to specialize in either Magicka or Stamina? I don't really want to use a Destro Staff for dps, I like the playstyle of a tanky dps with some self heals and survivability. But is this still viable?

My main focus is on PVE and I'm likely to be focusing on Orsinium content.

Any thoughts or builds?

In todays meta you want to go all into either mag or stam. But im sure u can build a tanky dps with self heals using either, prolly easier with mag.

I did not do any google research on this, but I also use a hybrid dps/tank build for my DK. And it works fine for me until now (I am VR2 now)

    Here is it:

The only difference now is that I use a all heavy, all xivkyn, 5 pieces of Redistributor set and 2 pieces of Night Mother’s Gaze set, partly blue and party purple improved, all enchanted to increase stamina or health

Hybrids are in a really bad spot right now. So far, no one has bothered to address this in any of the podcasts or dev posts outside of "well they can just get more stamina and magicka".

Brilliant. Nevermind the issue that your skills will be half as powerful using the exact same amount of skill slots.
