It's interesting that the only real argument I see here against class change is that no other MMO has ever done it. So what? Can't ESO be different?
However, I am interested in real arguments against class change. Exactly what is the issue? I'm asking with genuine interest and want to know. I'm not for or against, just really want to understand what the issue is.
How does it unbalance things or be "a can or worms in one regard, devalue their game in other regards" (as posted above)?

Another reason is that certain classes are easier to level than others (Templar), and people will take the easy way out on their way to v16 and then swap to a harder class at endgame, further exacerbating the above problem. This makes the effort to level a class less commendable and admirable.

Real arguments against class change? Fine:
The entire time a person levels to v16 they are learning the specific spells and play style of their current class. By the time they are endgame, they will have a good feel of the class in order to do endgame content.
If a person can suddenly change their class to something they have never played, they will be blindly at v16 with a class they have no idea how to play, and making group runs for everyone they are running with miserable because they have to learn their new class with people who have already somewhat mastered their classes. PUGs are already a bad experience filled with bad players who have never class changed, and would be a nightmare with class changes in place.

Third argument: There's already a class change in the game, it's called making an alt. This argument is stupid for race and appearance changes, as those are purely cosmetic things, but perfectly valid for class changes as there is significant effort and learning involved.
It's just not happening.
