Ancient Orc Motif droprate

Started to farm ancient orc motif and seems something is off with drop rates. Got 3 pages in Old Orsinium, 0 pages Rkindaleft(farmed this dungeon more than Old Orsinium). All 3 pages from Orsinium are from same boss- Pyre Keeper Rugdrulz, no other boss gives me a page. Is it just rng acting up for me or someone have similar experience?

I got two pages in Rkindaleft, soloing the bosses there... one from the megaspider, one from the three undead... during about... 17 boss soloings. None in old orsinium yet, despire some boss killings as well... pyre keeper, we have a date!

It's rather tenious, but I guess them's the breaks for really rare motivs, huh?

I received two motifs in my first 4 or so boss kills, then nothing since (probably 25+) Rng life, what can you do.

same here, got 4 the first evening i went there, since then nothing. So i stopped doing it.

I think there is some kind of cooldown timer on the bosses so they dont drop loot
this was introduced when the game was just released and the bots farmed bosses for skyshards etc.

i got like 67 gold and nothing else on boss nr 6 after i went through the whole dungeon and killed them all within minutes apart

the first evening i did not know where they were so i wasted more time in between. i think this affects the loot, more time between bosses = more chance to loot motives (or souldgems/weapons)

FYI, the motif chapters don't just drop from the bosses. I got a chapter from a regular mob, and I've heard the containers also drop them. So between the loot, the XP, and the chance for motifs, you don't have to farm only bosses. It's all good.

I got 5, 2 in containers, 2 from random mob and 1 from boss. All from old orsinium. Farmed each dungeon around the same. Maybe the other dungeon doesn't like me.

I've done both dungeons about 15 times each, I looted everything I could, and still haven't found a since motif page. RNG is the one thing is this game that will always hate player. This topic reminds me of Kuta. Since 1.6 I have found two in the wild and two from writs. RNG love, all I can say.

So both dungeons gives pages, good to know that isn't an issue. With dwemer motif pages there were CD on dungeon after founding the page, probably same with ancient orcs.

Same here, I got one from a regular mob.
So far it's the only I've found (it was in Rkindaleft), but I don't like farming motifs so I bought the other necessary parts to get my desired armor set

I got one motif page from Old Orsinium after running through it once, doing the quest, and killing all the bosses. Same with Rkindaleft.

But today I went and grinded through Rkindaleft for 2 hours, killed probably a thousand mobs, dozens of bosses, looted all the urns and not a single page. And yes, at least one of the bosses started only dropping gold.

If there IS a cool down period, it'd be nice to have official confirmation so I know how best to approach getting these motif pages.

When is ancient orc motif going to be available in the crown store? Cause after 43 boss kills and 1 page I don't you think the rng time sink is going to be anywhere worth it for me.

Definitely staying away from Old Orsinium and just farming Rikandaleft pages.

I haven't received any pages after running both dungeons several times. I am just going to wait for them to drop in the Crown Store.

Old Orsinium 4: Rkindaleft 0. There's definitely are some factors that affects drop chances. Maybe number of peeps in dungeon? Rkindaleft seems more populated. Today I checked all containers on my way and got page from ghost chick boss,, if motif pages can be found in containers it make sense. Every empty container increases chance of getting page next encounter.

has anyone found 2 pages same day? There must be some CD!

I didnt know they could be found in the containers, I was under the impression that each boss has a specified Motif that it drops, at least thats what i was told.

So if you can loot them from the container, does that mean you can loot Ancient Orc Chest in Old Orsinium Container? I got my Ancient Orc Chest from the 3 Flying Black Bird boss thing in Old Orsinium.

I just CP grind in those things anyway, and dont expect the motif to always drop from the bosses. Would be nice to be able to get them from the mobs too. I usually Pop the XP potion while im enlightened and blow through the xp. Takes like 20 minutes to waste enlightenment.

@MrBeatDown, yea I don't like farming motifs either. But I have 2 toons left to get to max (not really motivated to max them out due to Cp cap since I might as well level a toon while getting cp). So I've just been grinding out those toons while trying to get motif pages. I know there are better grind spots. But this way I can kill 2 birds with one stone. Once I get all the pages. I will more than likely grind my toons elsewhere.

two days ago, I got a page from Old Orsinium early in the morning. Went there later that day to find another one. It's possible.
I've gotten 6 or 7 motifs so far. The majority from Old Orsinium. Although, I've been with other people who gets quite a few pages from the ice atronauch in Rkindaleft. For my sake, at least 4 or my motifs came from random mobs

Ran thru Old Orsinium I don't know how many times by myself, and with 2 to 3 other people and found 1 motif (head) on the spider champion. I always obsessively check the urns and haven't found anything there except a good amount of provisioning recipes, & lorkhan tears for my potion addiction.

Took same group to Rkindaleft and found 3 motifs in a run.. daggers, swords, and maces. Of course they didn't drop to me but to the others in party. :'(

Currently I have 6 pages from Old Orsinium(4 of them from Pyre Keeper Rugdrulz) and only 2 pages from Rkindaleft. Dwemer bosses don't like me very much, note like good pal Rugdrulz!

I got one page from mobs in Old Orsinium. I swear I got Maces from the group event boss the first time I was there, but it disappeared from my inventory. I also got Shoulders, but I don't remember from where.

Was in Old Orsinium with a group last night and a friend got a page from the three human bosses in the one room. I found a Barbaric motif in one of the containers.

Have put in about 8-9 hours between the two places and only have 3 pages to show for it. My friend spent less than an hour in Old Orsinium last night and got 2! Also this same guy has found 3 freaking Hakeijo (or however you spell it) in the past 4 days with almost no effort/grinding. Some people get all the drops while me and others get bent over the fence by the RNGenie.

I don't feel like I'm getting any where farming this motif I would like to know if it's worki as intended

I have the whole set, all from farming the two public dungeons. Just go from boss to boss. I had better luck with bosses dropping them, than from trash.

Oddly enough out of th 5 pages i've gotten (all from Old Orsinium) I think 2 were from trash mobs, 2 from bosses and 1 from a container. Guessing the ones from the other dungeon are harder to get since they are mostly the armor chapters /tinfoilhat.

I'll just do what I've done for the other motifs...

A year from now when they aren't so new and many people have them, I'll just buy the pages from guild stores. At that point, I'll be able to farm the necessary gold faster than I could farm the motifs themselves.

And I feel better about this, because I'd much rather reward other players in-game (that have the time to farm), than just give ZOS my money. I'd rather spend my real $$$ on the things I can't get in-game, like new dresses for my wife.
