PS4 Loading Times slowly strangling game

Although this is a bit of a concern, I do just want to say that I think you guys at Zennimax are doing a great job. You have provided a great game with great updates and seem to really listen to the community, and I've noticed you generally do fix bugs as soon as you can. In my opinion thats certainly a different experience from other developers in other games I've played.

With respect, "This may be an unusually long loading time" no longer really applies. It is hardly "unusual" if it is every single loading screen

Since the launch of Imperial City the loading screens on the PS4 have been very long indeed, sometimes many minutes long. Sometimes the loading screens can take so long that a player actually gets disconnected form the game. The launch for Imperial City was quite a while ago and we are now have the Orsinium DLC, yet if anything on the PS4 the loading times seem even longer.

I came on here to talk about this today and noticed the PC has had a patch to decrease their loading screen times. I looked for some info on whether PS4 players can expect the same patch to improve loading times but could not see anything. So, can I ask if PS4 loading screens will be fixed soon?

Ahhh ok that would be great. Nothing worse than sitting starring blankly at a loading screen for longs periods of time

If they had their own updater inside the game like ALL OTHER MMOs we wouldn't have this problem. Having to rely on PSN/Live to push important updates like that sux.

No worries. The PC players are reporting much better load times with the latest patch. That same patch is coming to console within the next few weeks

Loads seem a little bit better since the patch this week, but still a lot longer than they were when the game launched. Hope it goes back to that speed in December.

So many times I've found myself startled awake...holding my controller and looking at my character in whichever locale I was porting into. And a "controller disconnected" message on-screen.

Dammit...the last thing I remember was looking at a loading screen....

Why does it take so long to get hot fixes for PS four with this game. Destiny is a cross platform game and they do hot fixes every Tuesday. Granted Elder scrolls is a lot larger but it seems like PC gets fixes almost weekly and consul we want to months without beams showing it's a little bit ridiculous

Because this isn't a hotfix?
It's a patch. Your patches have to be approved by your platform.
PC just got this fix this week so it now has to be approved before they can push it to you.

You're actually getting it faster, we had to wait for them to figure out the fix in the first place.

That's odd that you have long loading times and I don't. I've been playing on PS4 all year and have never had a loading screen longer than about 30 seconds. What's up with that?

Good question!

I would guess it's because of where the code is hosted that is being changed. Since the code is hosted on your machine, it has to be looked at as a new program every time. Check for malicious code / system crashing bugs.

I agree, for me the loads used to be about 5 seconds, now they are more like 30 seconds. That's a big increase, but its not the end of the world. When I see people reporting load times of several minutes, I tend to think they have another problem going on with their connection or machine to cause this.

Prior to Imperial City I had load times of around 30 seconds, however since then I am seeing load times significantly longer. Yes minutes. I'm not sure why a couple people here are experience no problem with load times but on the EU server, everyone I game with certainly are. Thats not an issue with just one person, but a lot of people!

Anyways if a patch is coming as indicated by some in this post, it seems Zennimax are aware of it and have already created a patch, which in itself would suggest there was a problem.
