Werewolf Discussion

So, I hear Werewolves are not all the rave. I get having to slot an ultimate to get the Stam Regen passive is allot of the downside, but when I transform... I'm a pillar of destruction. The most beneficial thing I can see is that my Fear has no CC Immunity effect. Soon as it ends and I Roar again you get feared. I can keep doing this over and over or until my Transformation ends. You can literally lock people down. Unless I've completely missed something here...

WW is the true high risk high reward ultimate.
It provides you with the strongest CC in the game, that can be followed up by other CC, the highest damage arsenal in the game (with 2 DoT components against blocking targets), a decent gap, closer and an AoE heal debuff.
However you also loose access to almost all major and minor buffs and debuffs and become highly vulnerable to slowing effects and immobilizes, while having none of your own. Additionally WW sustain is incredibly low and the only reliable heal scales off magicka, which is very limited (but thats a good thing else we would be ridiculously broken).
To top it off the vulnerability to fighter guild skills can just shrek you.

WWs have a very linear kit and are very predictable in their actions, making it possible to fight them if you know what you are doing, against anyone that doesnt however, he will simply destroy things.

    In short: WW is F U N !

It used to be very bad for a very long time. Personally i think it's in a good place right now. I've been a werewolf since beta, back when we had 2 skills and it cost 1000 ult to use !!! I wish it was a little bit cheaper, but Werewolf can be deadly at times.

I have a DK stamina orc WW,
Just made him WW last week and have already almost maxed out all his abilities...

I watch that ultimate button and when it glows i immediately hit it,

Do my pounce, do the roar(hits opponent onto ground and half his health dissapears), then other howl(FEAR) hit him a heavy attack and an light attach and then chow down time baby.....

    Absolutely loving it..

Werewolf is insanely powerful, especially when you get all the skills to morph. With Howl of Agony dealing 30% additional damage to feared enemies it is nearly a one shot in PvP. Not only that but the bleed DoT is epic. If you go with the Berserker Morph of the Ulti I've gotten it up to 10k a tick in PvP on my stamplar. All of this combined with the 10% extra Weapon Damage you get from Hircine's Rage(The morph of the heal) that stacks with Major Brutality my weapon damage is well over 5k while in werewolf from with over 50k Stamina. Plus you get 10k extra physical and spell resist while transformed which makes you nearly unstoppable.

The only thing I would complain about is that you are not immune to damage while returning to Human form. You are immune to all damage during the initial transformation and should be immune to all damage during the time it takes to revert to human form.

Personally I find the reverting to human should leave you vulnerable, werewolf is incredibly powerful, and werewolves should be penalized for not being able to sustain their form and prematurely unmorphing. This is the added risk of taking Bezerker over pack leader.

that would be fine with me if it wasn't a complete pain just to maintain form. having to stop and devour every few seconds, taking damage not properly keeping you in form half the time when i do manage to do devour and properly wait the timer doesn't move. I have to chow a again and then ....its just too late to be worth it.

Mainissue is due to higher dmg mitigation the timer of the WW is too short.....it should be like 45s instead of 30s....

And howl of agony is reflectable which is stupid.
Also WW is not able to use Synergies which is stupid.
Also, despite a WW being a Hunter, WW cannot sneak which is stupid.

I'm trying ww last couple of days, first time since I started playing. I've seen lots of ppl complaining about the cost of ultimate, but man that thing is powerful. Unless you fight some totally pro player you have almost guaranteed kill once you transform.

I'm seriously considering styin ww in my future build.

Question: how do ww abilities scale?

does your weapon enchant proc in ww form?

It is a lot of fun and yes quite powerful. A lot of people don't like werewolf due to increased damage to you from poison and fighters guild attacks, but as far as I know that's only when in werewolf form.

I love using werewolf transformation. Roar is super powerfull, and very satisfying to use :) How awesome is it that an enemy can just drop dead in front of you because you roared at it?

I mean, they aren't Hunters so much as they are ferocious beasts. They aren't really suppose to be stealthy like Vampires. I think you're taking that term a little to seriously. They use "Hunter" loosely.

Yeah, after playing it couple of days. I'm definitely stick with WW for a while. I haven't been pvping on purpose much during that time, but I met a few ppl and they were all just demolished. Makes me think almost WW is OP lol. But there is short timer plus prize, so it's probably in a good spot.

I think it is. I mainly use it as a last effort or Plan B Laserbeam type of deal if my normal tactics aren't working.

I don't do a lot of PvP, but maybe leaving the corpse of another player even after they resurrect themselves may help the timer issue there. Or increasing the timer in PvP areas do to the loss of feeding targets.

Overall, I like my WW, but the timer is too short. Someone said that the damge received ability isn't granting time properly, o maybe that is my issue, because I haven't been able to maintain form in some areas, and others I can run the whole dungeon almost 3 times before dropping out of form.

Recently, my WW seems to run slower as well.

I tried it on my stamina sorc alt and if you Crit Surge and Thundering Presence immediately before shifting then they last their full duration. Having an electric werewolf crit-healing himself for insane heals and damage is hilarious.
