Sorry for joke title, but the rewards for quests should be a LOT better. not vendor loot or decon mats. In ole Oblivion some of the quest loot was good stuff for a few lvls. Now most everyone has player made sets and/or drop set mix.
Give quest drop items something special enuf to make ppl wonder/want to equip.

BTW ya know what ya git for fighting off a Nord hord? empty bottles...

Sadly this is an effect of the fact that this is an MMO; the quests are mostly done for the XP gain and story, not the reward or even the money a lot of the time.
I have departed into the great unknown that is outside the game and the forums, and wish you well in your Tamriel adventures!

    DC - PC - EU - Australian
VR11 Mrderrikk: Breton Stam Sorc (Vamp) | VR16 Derrikkinblack: Dunmer Mage DK | VR3 Cuts-Until-It-Dies: Argonian Magicka NB

    Oh look, Anook.

Well then, why did they call them rewards ingame? They are to reward you for completing a quest.I like getting rewards,as is with all MMOs. They ALL give rewards, and some pretty good ones too.I used to get drops of nice gear and weapons in WoW quite a bit. And no,most of us arent doing quests to gain XP.I sure dont. I am not one of those who's gear must be top of the line in regards to their stats, nor do I even pay attention to XP.Not to insult anyone who is. I look occasionally to see if I am getting close to leveling up,but nothing more than that.

Count yourself lucky you got some mediocre quality item. The last time my character had to fight off a hord of nords she got... uhm... well, I am not really sure, actually, things got kinda hazy after the fourth or fifth mead... there was a lot of cursing (in a very low voice) and soreness the next morning... picking up scattered gear, hoping noone missed the chicken she found her favorite dagger in, sneaking out of the tavern before the nords woke up... but we never found out how the sardine got wedged under the bootlaces... ;)

    On a more serious note...

Yeah, the quest rewards are generally sh... uhm... somewhat dissapointing compared to stuff you can craft or find in random drops. Except for those quests that drop a skill point. Or something really special, like a trophy or costume, as rare as those are. But then, that's the way of the world for MMO games - the good stuff generally comes from big boss battles, as directed by the gods of RNG. At least here we have a chance of goodies with some daily quests too (thanks orsinium), or some token-ish system in PvP-land.

Generally, as has been mentioned, you don't do the questing for the rewards, but for the experience. Quite literally. The rewards are just a bonus to keep your armor repair bills paid, and save up for that horse you always wanted, stuff like that...
