Playing since PC launch, just got my first gold motif

I was just doing a quick run through the IC sewers near the AD base (basically because I had about 20 minutes to play, so I figured I might as well get a couple of CPs, trophy drops, a few hundred TV stones, and some loot to deconstruct), and after grouping with a random player (other people were chatting in /zone, but he was the only other player I actually saw on my quick circuit), killing all the mobs, a trove scamp, and a portal, I was turning into the tunnel to go back to base. Out of habit, but without expecting anything decent from it, I searched the backpack sitting at that tunnel entrance (all AD players familiar with their sewers will know the backpack I'm talking about) and was absolutely shocked to get the gold Imperial motif from it.

I knew that the motif actually did exist, I just never expected to get it. I mean it's one of the most rare drops out there, and I've never bothered with relog motif farming. Such an unexpectedly profitable short little sewers run...

My crafter is an Imperial anyway (not specifically so he would know the style, mind you, it's just that I wanted my main to be an Imperial, and I wanted my main to also be my crafter - those decisions were made long before I realized that the Imperial motif was rare), so I'll only end up selling the motif, but still. I was so excited I had to post.

Its illogical to think so but my RNG luck seems to go in good and bad spells so if I found something like that I'd be tempted to go back on and try and find more stuff, at least until a dearth of decent finds "proved" my good luck had gone.

I've never gotten the Imperial as a gold motif. I believe my crafters got it before it was color coded that way.

I just got my first gold recipe - from a quest - and having been gone for half a year I didn't even know that was possible. Grats on the RNG fairy finally granting you a gold motif. May your helms be winged with pink frills!

That's a new thing, only one in the game. Interesting set of recipes, tho.

Awesome! 130 days of playing (straight) myself and have only found a dwemer motif!

A long time ago, I made a poll about who has found the motif or not, and at that time I haven't found it myself. Not long after this poll, I found my first^^ During the following months, I found it for all my characters (they're all crafters and completionists) and even two or three times more which I could give away to friends. Usually I'm not that lucky with finding special items, but with motifs I am.. was.. well, not anymore. However I don't do these relog-farming sessions either.
The last one I've found was in Malabal Tor, Ilayas Ruins; on the platform on top (where the skyshard is) are these pillars, and there's one single desk, the motif was in there

That's a new thing, only one in the game. Interesting set of recipes, tho.

^This. That gold recipe is currently the only one in the game, and only available from that quest. It's a pretty interesting one, and I feel like it could be great for tanking. I just recently got it myself, and I happened to be sitting on a perfect roe (the one ingredient in the recipe that's really hard to come by), so I crafted 4 of the food. I'm looking forward to trying it out on my next undaunted run as a tank. I'm used to using tri-stat purple food while tanking, so I want to see if just upping the health, while upping the regen on all 3 stats is better for my tanking resource management.

Yes, I don't know why^^ But an odd thing I've noticed during the time I'm here: whenever I posted in the forum that I "haven't found item X" in a while or never in the first place, these items started to show up in the game for me very soon after. I was having the same with Kuta (maybe a year ago? I forgot), as soon as I've posted it, boom, found two during the next 1 or 2 days. And also the same with blue motifs after the IC patch (or the one before), ever since I mentioned I don't find them anymore, I found a ton of them, but not any purple anymore... really creepy^^
