As a sound designer myself (albeit in a completely different context) I've thought many times while exploring Wrothgar (I'd been gone for 7 months and just happened to rejoin ESO on patch day) that there's many a delightful sound effect or soundtrack theme that was really excellent.

But at the culmination of the quest line and you turn around and there's a surprise appearance by a character you'd not expect there, with some incredible news to impart (I don't want to spoil it for anyone) it's a powerful moment and one that could easily lead to bathos. But what really sold the epic feeling of the warning was the incredibly subtle shift in the music, all the more amazing as it wasn't overstated nor did it draw attention to itself. It literally sent chills down my spine. One of the best moments I've experienced in Tamriel.

I game with the game sound off and my stereo on normally but a few games have made me want to actually listen to them and this is one of them. Awesome work on the sounds/music throughout the entire game imho.

I always game with the sound and I agree completely. Music in Wrothgar is awesome and yes, that moment when you turn around...

Definitely. The audio for this game is among the best I've ever heard, in any game let alone MMOs. For those that haven't seen it, check out this awesome AMA the sound team on the ESO subreddit a while back!

Hey, guys, Joshua here, thanks for the kind words, we're always excited to find out that people are appreciating the work we do. We're always diggin' around trying to find ways to make the audio better and better with every release, and I think it shows with Orsinium.

There's an Orsinium AMA coming up soon and Brad'll be part of that if you guys wanna ask him some questions about the audio. I'm not sure if Bill Mueller, who was lead sound designer for Orsinium will be taking part, but I'm sure questions can be relayed to him too.

    Anyway, thanks, everyone!
