hey im guessing like most of you of this patch who enjoyed doing content and would love trying to get your gear plus get that gear u can make some extra money on not to farm to sell just to make a prophit to suppose your repair cost your potion use and so on. with this latest update only really way to make money is to farm tolvar stones and to get the new motifs sinces the only new content raid wise is Maelstrom Arena everything is BOP sooo i love and enjoy that place soo much but since ive started im down about 100k in repairs and pots.. and no way to make my money back anyyone else feel they got gipped this patch with selling armor and wpns and jewlery

However, the economy is quite limited now with precious few items of any significant interest to put on the market. As viable options we have Crafting Mats (upgrade items especially), Motif pages/chapters, and..... recipes? We need more sets to be Bind on Equip not Bind on Pickup. This was how the game worked for the first 18+ months and I don't believe the B2P change would be harmed by keeping the old system of gear. Encourage people to play, don't discourage them.Semi retired from the trading aspects of the game.10 -

✭The one thing that actually helps is folks wanting to make VR16 gear and it costing so much in materials. I've made almost 100k this week on mats alone. It also helps that I like to farm mats to get myself sleepy after getting off of work.

Flak✭✭✭✭Running the latest content should earn you money, not cost! I was very disappointed with the IC Dungeondrop being BoP, but I could understand since most of these Sets are very good. But now the new bad sets... they took it way too far.

Belidos✭✭✭✭✭Normally i'm happy no matter the change in the game, I play to have fun not turn it into a chore, but this change has kind have annoyed me, not because of the change itself but because of the sheer short sightedness of the move. People have been clambering for less BoP on the forum for months, even asking for ways to unbind existing BoP, and yet they this time they come up with a whole DLC where everything is BoP, to me it's a huge "screw your" to the players.Edited by Belidos on November 14, 2015 9:31AM5

I know the OP is all about the making money of the change. But there's also the fact hat gear can't be traded around and with it all being RNG you might get a ton of items you don't need and nothing you want, but someone else gets a ton of the stuff you need be he/she doesn't. It would be nice to be able to swap and trade the gear. It's not just about the money aspect.
As I said it doesn't really effect me, i'm not gong to even buy the DLC until I've competed almost all of the original content. What bothers me is that ZOS are actively doing the opposite of what a lot of people have asked for.Edited by Belidos on November 14, 2015 9:42AM3 -

That would be great argument if ESO was the only b2p game, and if it didnt have the strong competition. Reality is, there are other f2p games and b2p games that handle the balance between getting their money and giving away to the players much better.2 -

I don't want to sell materials as I have 3 VR16's to outfit @ roughly 130-150 material per piece.
I've blown whatever money I had speeding up the process by buying ore etc. and I'm not making any money from what I sell anymore. Looking at where I stand in the trading guilds I am still in the top 50 sales in all 5 guilds, so it looks like most are struggling.1 -
Annalyse✭✭✭✭✭While I don't find making money in the game to be problematic at all, I do agree that there should be less BOP items. There are things that I am unable to do for varying reasons, and I like the option of using the money I make in other ways to buy the items that I cannot farm myself.
And I do not think it is a necessary thing to get people to buy the expansion. People play this game because they enjoy it - so, make an expansion that is exciting and fun, and people will buy it. Not to mention the fact that more people probably enjoy being able to sell new drops for high prices than they do getting BOP drops that they don't want or already have.3 -

This is a l2p the market issue, not anything to do with new content, bop, or this patch in particular.
Trade activity spiked like crazy the first couple weeks of IC because almost everything introduced in that patch was behind a pay/content wall, significantly better, and in high demand because it was new. Things that were being traded before dlcs are still being traded actively, you just probably won't be scoring a million gold over night anymore lol0 -

The only reason why laurels are BOP is because they are going to introduce crown laurels, just like the malachite. This game is spiraling downward from the 7 months I have been playing this ***.2 -

for the minimal stat increase for v16 gear it is not worth the time put in or money to make it. I am sticking with v15 right now.

Minimal is subjective. While the base stats might not be THAT different from V15 to V16, the real difference cones in the enchantments. Gold glyphs on V16 armor give considerably more than gold enchants on V15 armor, especially when you consider the total difference on all 7 pieces. It's substantial.

Actually I've not had a problem with my VR 14 gear and I agree about the VR 16 not being worth it. That said I do want to up grade my weapons but unless I run into more trouble than I get now, I'm gonna stick with my VR 14 armor.
