Since achievements and loot, people don't play for "fun" anymore. They want a reward and that's it, whether it's fun or not.

When, for example, people played Battlefield 1942... there where no leaderboards, achievements, unlocks or whatever. People played for fun.
When I play BF2142 or BF3, I had many people leave the game because "they already have all unlocks" or "have a *** K/D ratio".

The same for mmo's. I played Starwars Galaxies, which didn't have quests to start with and there was no reward for anything. But people played... for "fun". Same could be said for Vanguard or other mmo's which did have rewards for most quests/raids, but people did stuff over and over again like overland raids which didn't give rewards, but because it was fun.
These days, if there is no better loot reward then they already have... they don't like to do it.

I love the dungeons in TESO. I could do them over and over again. I wish I found a group who would do all dungeons on veteran mode with me. I don't need a reward. I play for the fun.

I don't care about achievements. I don't like the fishing... so I won't have the master angler achievement. Other people also don't like the fishing, but do go for the achievement... why? They play not to have fun, but for the unlocks.

Same here - but I could HAPPILY do AA or Hel Ra or even Sanctum (which for me is actually boring and depressing - the whole place sucks aesthetically) another 500 times because it's fun - to just run around with people you like - in my opinion.

Fishing: Oh hell no. Not unless they have an actual GOOD colour with it.

I love the dungeons too - some are too easy, and SOME which could benefit SERIOUSLY from a Vet Version like the Mad Architect one are easy but AMAZING!!!!

I'd go to any vet and some non-vet dungeons any time. Or what about that one with all the portals in Coldharbor? Has like 8 bossses? That was FUN! Needs a VET version!

FYI, the requirement that all 4 people be on the same phase of the quest was removed over a year ago. I have helped many players open the portal in the Missing Guardian quest so they could continue (and most of the time helped them with it because I do enjoy that quest).

Yes I know thanks! I was referring to when I first did it. Even when things weren't nerfed, you could 2 man most stuff over there. It was a time point reference hence the word needed, rather than need.

Also as an aside, I have helped open a lot of doors since, but I also try and bear in mind that someone may not want me tagging along the rest of the way as they may be happy to just do it on their own without someone else in their groove ;-)

Not saying you would just barge in - just saying in general :)

    Have a great weekend! :-)

My husband is still waiting for the /pilesoffishguts emote so that he can have everyone nearby share his seach for perfect roe.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis
