FPS drops over time in Maelstrom Arena

Been running vet maelstrom and I've noticed that my FPS drops in proportion to the amount of time spent in there. By around Round 5, my usual 90 FPS has dropped to 60 FPS - and then by Round 9, I'm at 30-40 FPS max. In addition to the FPS - there is a general sluggishness of commands akin to how lag operates noticeably in pvp. I'm in the arena usually at about 90 ping, so latency couldn't be the issue itself there.
I'm using a lightning staff and I once heard that lightning particle effects can get weird (like when the Molag Kena fight was crashing a lot).
If I do a full restart - Round 9 FPS goes back up to 90.
Memory leak? Something like that perhaps?

✭✭✭✭✭It's everywhere, not just Maelstrom, or at least everywhere in Wrothgar.
Going in and out of a delve or dungeon also fixes it.
