Cyrodiil Treasure Chest Maps

I have a few questions..... (currently hoarding like 10+ cyro maps)

What drops from these chests? Set pieces? Jewelry?

What level are the drops? Up to V16?

Does any Orsinium/IC sets drop?

I'm curious too, as I'm also currently sitting on a bunch of these, and lately I've noticed people in zone saying "WTB Cyrodiil treasure maps" so I imagine that something decent must drop from them...

The one map I used the loot was normal stuff I got from any other treasure map chest. I have another one in my bank in case I ever get back there. But if there is a market for them, I may just sell it.

I didn't think you could sell them, I believe they are account bound?

i've only had V16 gear on par with what i would find in any chest around IC. No sets , though i think i had purple motif page, and malachite. opened around 10 chests, so if they do drop sets Im either unlucky or they drop them rarely.

It is funny people are so lazy that instead of going into cyro and open the chest to find out, they go on the forums,,,,

But i got random blue loot and a few vr15 set items, nothing really valuable that i could use from 20 maps i stillnhad saved

You can get Pariah, Trinimac's Valor and Briarheart set items from Cyrodiil maps.

I have only gotten VR15 set items from them, and trash.

Yeah, because we're guaranteed to get every item that can possibly drop by opening the chests, and opening the chests doesn't use up the map so it's a totally viable way of figuring out what the maps might be worth and whether we'd rather use them ourselves or sell them.

Thank you - that's useful! Now I can understand why people were looking to buy them (and why I'd rather use them myself than sell them - because those sets are BoP).

People are buying them because you can farm the new orsinium bound sets with them. Dailies give you 7 chances for set pieces; with maps there's a guarantee of a set piece. People are trying to get those perfect v16 drops with perfect traits, and the maps give them more chances to do so.

I have bought plenty of the Cyrodiil maps off of the Guild Traders!

As for what is inside... mostly just blue quality items of your level. I think I have gotten a purple before though!

Wow, it's funny how ignorant some forum goers can be.

Console player here, not wanting to use my Cyro maps yet if they have a chance to drop Orsinium sets. Derp.

So I just went and used all of my Cyrodiil treasure maps. Each and every one of them dropped a single set piece from either Pariah or Briarheart or Trinimac's Valour - including a couple of jewelry pieces.

So thanks to this thread and the info given in it by @Ruben I was able to make an informed decision about what to do with these maps (ie. use them vs. sell them), and I'm pleased with the results.

And that @Beesting is why there are threads like this. Not because people are lazy, but because people want to have the best information possible before doing something irreversible and possibly screwing themselves over in the process.

You can get those sets from any battle levelled chest: I have PERSONALLY gotten pieces of those from chests in Wrothgar, Cyrodiil delves and Imperial City Sewers. Treasure maps have an even higher chance.

I have opened three Cyrodiil chests from Treasure Maps and I too have gotten Pariah, Briarheart and Trinimac's pieces. It's also worth noting that Resource Nodes in Cyrodiil also sometimes have Rubidite, Ruby Ash or Ancestor's Silk.
