Interact with player > Challenge to duel

Hi Everyone,

Was wondering what people's thought on this would be:

Adding the option to duel people just as you can invite them to trade, send them a group request, etc..
I have seen this implemented in quite a few MMO's, and feel that this would add a new element of fun to the game. Being able to duel with your friends (or random people)

Personally I would be extremely happy to see something like that.

Would you guys like to see this implemented also?

I do not want to get random duel invitations (random guild invites when I'm just in the bank or by a wayshrine are bad enough); this is not a feature I want to see in the game.

However I will not mind if it's implemented as long as it is something I can flagg offs so that it blocks duel invites being sent my way, and as long as duelling is always disabled in towns.

Even though it'd be really cool, I don't think it should be.

Rather have an arena. And in PvP htere are options to duel, just gotta find a good guild. Really fun.

I agree, that would be great to do! and even in towns, why not! It should be options there, block incoming dueling invitations from randoms, only from friends, disable all.

    Please @ZOS_GinaBruno implement this!! :)

Sure you can duel in cyro.. but when you want to train with a friend or so one had to make an alt
So plus for duelling but with a option for auto ignore

I would love to have a dueling option, but this has been asked for since PC beta, and ZOS has obviously not given what the people have been wanting.

I suppose dueling PVP arenas will be added in first quarter 2016 (Dark Brotherhood), or second quarter 2016 (Thieves Guild)

I'd love that. As long as there's an option to completely disable the duels request, there's no reason at all this isn't here yet.

Nope. This can lead to insulting behaviour. The place for duelling is an arena, thanks.

As long as there's a way to disable it so no one can send me invites I wouldn't mind it being included.

Come to think of it that would be nice for guild and trade invites too.

Nice, seems so far the the majority would be happy to see this implemented, only with the option of disabling invites if you want to.

I came to that conclusion too, after giving it a second thought.

And people who will disable the invites will be called names and probably attacked in the back, in order to force them into duelling against their will. No, thanks.

Absolutely. Make it an option turned OFF by default in the gameplay settings, but yeah, this could totally work.

Not sure how you came to that conclusion but from my own personal experience, I have never seen or heared of people randomly being insulted for refusing duels in similar MMO's that have implemented this.

People have been asking for such an option since... well, since I started following the forums!

And while I generally don't like PvPing all that much, I think a duelling option would be a good thing. With some restrictions.

A mentioned auto-decline setting would be a must, agreed.
The possibility to set this to "friends only" would also be a good thing.

Then... the law definitely should react to duels! Meaning, duelling within city limits should be illegal, and get you arrested or worse by the cardinals... I mean, the city guard! ;) Otherwise people would duel in the banks just because they could, to the ire and vexation of other players...

Duelling arenas might be a good idea too, where people proud of their PvPness can compare that to others... see if their schwartz is as big as the others, and how well they handle it, that sort of thing...
Possibly with an "entrace wager" where people must put up some unbound item to go to the winner of the fight...

No need to make it illegal in towns - just enable guard damage during duels... ;)

I would rather see it coming with the Dark Brotherhood DLC actually. That you're not just able to interact someone for a fight but that there's actually more to it. A bit lore or something, maybe with bounties if that player did certain things. Like assassination, I think if it's get implemented ZoS should make it something more than just dueling. It would be great too for Roleplayers.

But just adding it like that, I don't know if that's the right thing.

    Join a dueling guild.

Why subject total strangers to some stupid request for a duel?

Though I might be for it if every time I were to decline a stupid person I'd get 1000 gold from his bag/bank. lol

Uhh and to anyone who claims those who decline duels don't sometimes get randomly insulted, you are incorrect.

Duelers make me think of little children sometimes.

I support this idea. This would help us testing our builds, training others, trained by others, great for role players, can be a part of the justice system (trial by duel, GoT, anyone?) testing class balance to make sure everything is working fine. wait forget about the last thing. :)

You know there's an ignore option there, works like a charm. If someone insults you for declining a duel, it's a shame for him not you. MMOs are as good as their community after all. lotro had duel since launch, in 7 years of playing I encountered one idiot insulted me for declining a duel. Besides, you can find people insulting you in cyrodiil quite often yet devs won't turn off cyrodiil just because of that. :)

Perhaps have it so they need to be in the same group as you to dual them.
