Dear ZOS,
hi, I was wondering if you could make the armor below
craftable in a future patch. It looks too nice to be relegated
to a few forgotten scraps lost in low level dungeons... and it's not currently available above V10, and the stats of the set are not really that good/useful for PvE.
It would be so cool if people could craft any set in this style.
Pretty please?

It's ebony isn't it? It even looks like the Ebony mail out of Skyrim :D

Sadly ZOS aren't interested in making changes to any sets in the base game or old DLC's, as that would mean people wouldn't be as inclined to buy the new DLC just for the armour. I see no reason not to have an ebony motif, although what would they do for light/medium?
I have departed into the great unknown that is outside the game and the forums, and wish you well in your Tamriel adventures!

Well, their point should be to sell the core game to start with, so the more cool armor sets, the better.
With regard to light and medium versions, I am sure they can come up with something that would agree with the style,
like they did before (think of glass, it has medium and light versions).

Thing is Ebony is actually a Raw Material so they cannot make it a Style. Light Armor uses Ebony Thread.

I have always wondered if they plan to expand on appearances based on Raw Material rank though. For the 10 races it stops changing at Rank 4 (Spidersilk/Full Leather/Dwarven/Hickory) and ancient races have only one for all 10 ranks. Some would prefer it if the lower rank appearances could be maintained at all ranks but others would probably like to see more expansion on this.

Plus, they don't even necessarily need completely new models for the medium and light versions, as long as the textures are matching somehow. It wouldn't be the first time that they recycle some models (think of the Xivkyn helmet).

What I like is the look of the armor, I don't really care if it's made of ebony or something else :)

Well to be perfectly honest now that I think about it Dunmer Heavy Helms sort of resemble the Ebony Helmets from TESV: Skyrim...

This I was thinking to ask lately, when I have an armor VR1, will it look differently If it will be from the same armor motif, but crafted as VR 16 armor?

and does the armor appearance change when improving the armor (green, blue, purple, gold)?

They do, but they are too big and clunky. The ebon helmet looks sooo much better, it's way closer to the original concept art of the Dunmer helmet, which was awesome:

All 10 playable racial styles have a unique look for Rank 1 (Iron/Maple/Jute/Rawhide), Rank 2 (Steel/Oak/Flax/Hide), and Rank 3 (Orichalcum/Beech/Cotton/Leather), but Rank 4 (Dwarven/Hickory/Spidersilk/Full Leather) is the last time a new appearance comes with the upgrade as every Rank beyond shares the same design, but has altered base colors dependant on the material used. Ancient Races on the other hand share the same design with every single rank! If I am mistaken on any of this feel free to correct me but last I looked it was as such.

As for improving quality I heard it does have a slight altercation on appearance, usually in the form of being shinier or something. I myself haven't worn anything beyond Superior stuff yet as I am stockpiling my materials for finalized gear lol

Beyond TES series I actually compared it to a helmet worn by an anime character lol

No, armors stop upgrading their look once you reach veteran ranks, and they don't change their look as you upgrade them either, maybe the color.
However, I would be perfectly fine if there was only one version of the "Ebon style" for all levels (or should we call it "Ancient Nord" style, since it may not be made of ebony?).

Another idea that comes to mind is to make the "Ebon style" the upgraded version of the ugly Dunmer armor set for higher levels rather than a style on its own.

Bump. Please add a motif to craft in the same style as the Ebon armor.

It's hard to see the details in the screenshot when it looks like that armor had a monthly cycle.
