Templar Build

DarkWolf_GR
I'm building a templar for the first time and curios what people would think of the build i'm trying. It is only level 27 atm.

Attributes: Currently 5 magicka 10 health and 10 stamina.

1st Bar (1 handed & shield):
Heroic Slash
Absorb Magic
Shield Charge
Healing Ritual
Mutagen (To keep some xp going to Resto staff)

Pack Leader

2nd Bar (Restoration Staff):
Breath of life
Mutagen
Healing Ritual
Soul Trap
Sun Fire

Rite of passage

Gear: Heavy Armour. Currently Death's Wind, planning on Vampire's kiss and the rest something for magic. I don't know much about non crafted sets.

My idea was off tank with some healing for group and solo to stay alive and quickly generate ult for ww and use that for damage. It is mostly used in a group for questing with a DK and occasionally a Sorc in group dungeons. So far in questing and world bosses we haven't had any issues. In dungeons I'm mostly on the Resto staff and ww for bosses.

I enjoy ww so i'm not going a full magicka build as i assume the lack of stamina will be an issue for ww but i don't know how well a hybrid build will work.

Just like with most classes and builds you will have issues with skills. You have stamina based attacks and magicka heals/dmg skills. You cut your potential down by working on hybrid builds.

If you are not trying to min/max I'm sure it'll work but not very effective/ efficient.

For leveling, using templar heals isn't bad idea even as stamina build. It's sufficient in most situations.

I don't mean to sound negative or put a downer on your build, but you can't use resto staff skills (Mutagen) on 1h and shield

I think at some point you might want to choose between magic or stamina based skills. I tried going for a hybrid build on my nb and my damage was SO poor I had to go respec back to magicka that very same day  but if you enjoy it then why the hell not? It is a game after all, it is meant to be fun. Maybe you will find a way to make it work, who knows

It's odd, but once I managed to keep my weapons skills on a bar with diferent weapon. I didn't try since then, but it's not entirely impossibe. I didn't try to use them, so I don't know if it works or at least you get xp into the skill line.

I have the resto staff skill there so that i am still getting rest staff xp while questing etc with the axe and shield out.

Really the only magicka skills i want are some heals, the rest will be stamina.
For large % of damage (for bosses etc) i plan to rely on ww transformation.

@DarkWolf_GR Well, Nord is a bad choice for a magicka user but for a stamina, I would say they are good as tanks.
Go for imperial, if you want hybrid the second best is a dunmer(your builds actually suits this race)

Here, is a quick guide for you to know which race is good/excellent for which class

Edit: I have notice that you have been using full heavy armor set when your build is 70℅ magicka based build. So, use 5 pieces of light, 1 medium and 1 heavy armor.

At this point i'll stick with nord. Don't want to start over again.

I don't want my main stats to be in magicka because this char is a ww and i enjoy using it.

how does a tank / stamina templar do with heals? are there many stamina heals?
