Hi folks and ZoS.

In my opinion, We are playing best MMO in the gaming world. Excellent dungeon&map desgins, good mechanics, a lot of action...

But on the other hand, the worst part of this beautiful game is costumes.

Instead of criticizing the costumes more, I have a suggestion:

Give us a freedom for creating our own costumes!

Let me explain:
Players will obtain dress parts from legerdemain. After laundered these parts, Players can buy "Golden Thread" item with a fair price from Crown Store. At the Clothing table, We can combine the parts with that "Golden Thread" and they will be turn into a "costume".

Amazing! Legerdemain will be revived, and every players can be used stolen dress parts as a costume! ZoS will make profit with crowns also!

These details can reinforce this idea:

- Heavy, Medium and Light armors cannot be used for creating costume. Just dress parts... ( Viva Legerdemain! )

- Golden Threads are for one-time use.

- Created Costumes can be buy or sell, but they will be binds to equip. A nice contribution to the economy, plus great roleplaying chance to being a legendary tailor or fashion designer

I welcome your suggestions and general recommendations on the subject.
Thanks for your time.

Good job in thinking "in game"! I applaud that! The concept of adding dress pieces to ledgermain is good. Anything to make the items we steal worth something other than gold.

They could make it more complex than this and add linens and fabrics to the game and give us a tailoring skill line for regular clothes.

I had a tailor concept a while back (http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/167833/eso-tailor-a-new-merchant-and-skill-concept) It's not perfect but you might like the core concept of gathering materials, learning patterns and creating clothing.

I also think the "make costume" should be an option for armors as well, not just clothing. There have been some really great concepts posted. Like this one: http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/156867/detailed-crown-store-suggestion-custom-costume-slots-lots-of-pictures-to-explain-how/p1

What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

As many an MMO as I've played over the many years I have played them I never once played one that actually made wearing normal clothes viable over wearing any sort of armor. Sadly, I don't think this will be one of them so the best Zenimax gives us is costumes and polymorphs. Who knows though, perhaps someday we will get something to make our own clothes and stuff for cosmetic purposes, but considering the only role that plays would have to be implemented as well such as beauty contests and whatnot and how harmful it could be to the costumes and polymorphs in terms of value to those who have purchased them I don't know if it will.

I still dislike any notion that allows wearing "clothing" costumes while having the usual armor protection, as such, I love the lootable "civilian clothing" in ESO - because wearing that one is not like a costume you just layer over your armor, but replaces the armor instead, thus making it a decidedly non-combat outfit.

I would love to see them expand on these, adding way more such clothing pieces, from racial styles (would be nice to not just have "generic medieval-ish tunics", but a few different styles... at least for regional differences, fur lined nord stuff, 1001-nights style redguard stuff, ornate altmer stuff, native-american-ish looking bosmer stuff, inca-ish argonian stuff...), special purpose styles (nobles threads and craftsmen clothing, beggars rags and dancers silks, whatever), more pieces in general (haven't seen a hat or shoulder pice yet in all my looting - and expecially hats would add sooo many possibly options...) and making them purchasable from tailors, and research/craftable by clothiers...

And I really wish they would split costumes into "combat costumes" like the knight set, nedic set, imperial battlöemage set and such that -look- like armor, and "non-combat costumes" like the wedding dress that might get an unequip function as soon as you take damage...
(though personally I would have much rather they never made those armor costumes, but instead added a style recrafting option to each crafting station and made the styles available to learn... but alas, things went another way)

The OP idea of combining random civilian clothing pieces into costumes is not one I would support, since it would for one allow to keep your armor while having non-armored looks (I mentioned I dislike that), and for another would likely require way more effort to program then just wearing the pieces "by hand".

I'd much rather have more civilian clothing pieces to find... and maaaybe some added effects for them as well. Non-combat bonus kind of stuff. Like getting increades temper improvement chances with each piece of "craftsnem clothing" worn, or getting lowered shop prices with noble clothing worn, or getting decreased guard fines with beggars clothing worn...
And then an option to increase the civilian clothings quality through the usual crafting improvements, to raise that bonus, and to keep your selected "outfit" pieces apart from others...
