Alchemy has to be improved!!!

Hallo ZOS, @ZOS_GinaBruno,

could you please improve alchemy that:

1. I will be able to label - name my crafter potions, so that I can distinguish the 3-potions from 1- and 2- potions? I know that the problem with the names is stacking, but maybe they could stay "potion of health", but they could either have a second name (given by me), besides the first "potion of health" name, or they could have different colour acording to the effect?

2. it would include poisons, so that either new potions (pure poisons) can be crafter and then smeared to weapons or that ravage potions could be used this way?

Alchemy needs work, I havent used my own made potions in long time, well, only Detect Invisibility now in IC. Own made potions just arent worth it, if you consider how long it takes to get the herbs for them.

If you do alchemy writs you will get some extra herbs from surveys. But I agree it's not viable to use the best crafted potions in all situations. Personally I keep those only for PvP, but for dailies, grind and other regular stuff I use dropped potions.

So the few potions that add weapon damage, crit, spell power, spell crit are not worth it? Well it is to me.
    Not everyone plays the same.
It only takes a few trips around hollow city in cold harbor to get whats needed.

Agree especially since there is no hireling for alchemy. handmade potions are a pain in the ass to find stuff for.

It just makes no sense that all crafting skills have hirelings except alchemy. I just can't see why.

You can't name potions - people who buy potions from other players want them to stack with the same potion they bought from another player, they won't be able to stack if everyone gives them their own unique snowflake name.

Furthermore, alchemy has the most *USELESS* skill instead of a hireling. Snakeblood?! WTF?! There are exactly *ZERO* potions you'd want to make with a negative effect to cancel out. Get rid of Snakeblood and replace it with a hireling. Problem solved.

Ya know, surprisingly I haven't thought about how gosh darn handy it would be to name our crafted pots... but I honestly do not see that in the real of possibility unless naming said pots then makes them account bound or they are handled kinda like pets where you can name your pet but its still a scuttle, if'n ya know what I mean ;)

And I believe they've given up on Ravager :(

Agreed overall though, Alchemy seems kinda half hearted when compared to the other scrolls games... it's like mmo dev's think mmo players are mental infants that need everything paint by numbers :p

Weapon/spell crit, hp and main stat, potions are definitely useful. The reagents are easy to find and if you're really that lazy just buy them. Alchemy writs give the reagents and the surveys come very quickly.

The overall professions needs a rework as do all the end game writ and rewards for writs.

yes I know this, but it can be solved like that, that the potion could have its main mame "potion of health" for example, for stacking and then it could have either some note, or some icon somewhere, or some second "crafters name", so that I can right on see which one it is. Or maybe different backround color for the potion icon could solve that. Or small icon indicating which one is it (it should be not a problem to add this (just a small list of icons, or list of backround colors for the potion)
    something like
    - potion from drops - white
    - 1-potion - green (potion of healt for example))
    - crafted 2-potion - blue (adds health, adds stamina)
    - crafted 3-potion - purple (adds health, adds stam, adds magicka)
or other colors, it do not need to be the colors used for item improvement.

And maybe even stacking can have a simple tick option - stack by name, stack by effect, stack by colour - solved!!

It would make alchemy much easier like that. Because in this state it is like unfinished in my opinion.
    @ZOS_GinaBruno

And using crafter potions that I craft, I use them a lot. Of course I also use potions from the drops, but it is not so hard to get the herbs, it just takes some time to collect them. Then I craft them and use them.

Agreed, and how about the writs actually include all 20 of the ingredients instead of just the 8, once poisons work like they do in all the other ES titles?

    I completely agree!

Allow us to save potion groupings we have created and want to repeat so we don't have to go through guesswork EVERY damn time we want to make that weapon crit pot or tri-stat, invisibility, and so forth.

The biggest one for me however is, making the majority of the herbs......oh I don't know....USEFUL. Literally half my herbs just accumulate because I don't use them and only have ever used them when I was first experimenting.

ALL of these herbs should have some useful and ongoing function in the game. Give me a freakin reason to use Emetic Russula, Imp Stool or Violet Coprinus! (I actually do the writs just to use Blessed Thistle and Nirnroot)

    - Make Snakesblood an ability that DOES something.

Things I wish they did with alchemy...

Potion quality - have two-ingredient player potions be green quality and three-ingredient potions be blue quality to distinguish them from dropped potions of the same name without having to compare effect.

Potion names - have multi-effect potions reflect that in their name. Either by a combined name (like, say, "essence of health & stamina") or (better but more work) a new designation (like, say, "essence of vitality" for a restore heath & stamina potion... etc.)

More ingredients! I am especially missing animal-derived ingredients... eye of newt, and toe of frog, wool of bat, and tongue of dog, adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting, lizard's leg, and howlet's wing, hair cut from a corpse under full moons light, that sort of stuff...
