Warning when about to decon researchable items

Please add a warning when we're about to decon an item that has a researchable trait. It gets a bit tedious switching back and forth between the decon tab and the research tab to make sure you're deconstructing the right items. (Ps4)

    Get an add-on? I don't, but I know they exist. I just have an excel spreadsheet open on my second monitor with known traits ticked off

    Edit: sorry, didn't notice the PS4 bit. I'd recommend printing out a list and ticking the boxes when you learn them.

    Anything you have set aside for research, put in the bank and store on an alt until its needed.

    Use harvens extended trait add-on. Will tell you in corner of item if it is researchable.

    It would be nice to have the ability to lock or flag items in the inventory.

    Personally I use Notepad to keep track of items I need to research and then make sure I don't accidentally get rid of it somehow.

    I agree with this. Or at least have items display they are reachable. This is a great idea OP.

    Ive asked for them to overhaul the UI regarding this for PS4. Heck Im sure it would be helpful on unmodded PC as well.

    When you go into the Refine Option. It tells you if you have some of the items in the Bank or in your Inventory. Why they cant add a Researched/Unresearched indicator on that same tab I dont know. Or organizing the items to be set next to other items of the same trait type. So to make it easeier to decon items you have multiples of.

    On PS4 Ive turned to copying down all of the Unresearched Traits in a book.Eveytime I pick up a weapon or armor I look through the book to see if I need to bank it. And even then, I still have to bounce between the Research and Decon tab to see if I need to decon any duplicates.

    Thanks for the replies everyone! (Even the trolls at the beginning!)

    @Tholian1 --- locking items is an awesome idea. I think this would perfectly solve the problem.

    Like most of you have also mentioned, I am keeping track of my researched traits by hand. It's quite tedious :)

    If possible open your own guild.

    This will give you access to a guild bank, from within you cannot deconstruct or improve items. (unlike normal personal bank)

    FIll it up with the stuff you will need.


    Not perfect, but for someone who used to run multiple mules in Asherons Call, far more elegant than dumping items in a dead bunny and hoping no one loots it while you are changing characters

    You just brought back some good memories :) ah the days before housing in AC! I used to do my muling in the town meeting hall in Yaraq. No one ever went in there :)

    As for the guild bank idea I didn't know about that! Does this work only for the guild master?

    Eastham for me.

    I have a guild of which I am the only member. From this I get a personal tabard and the extra bank space. This bank space does not count as your personal inventory, so you cant craft from it or put bound items in.

    But for stacks of refined materials and non-researched trait items, its perffect

    You can always make one and remove the rights for people to take items out of the bank.

    It works for anyone with access to the bank. So It can be problematic if you don trust people :)
