LFG Tool Improvements Don't Help if People Don't Use it Right

Very true. And that's why I never even consider putting anyone on ignore on the forums - I may vehemently disagree with them on one topic (to be honest, I don't remember ever vehemently disagreeing with you I just remember that there were several topics where we disagreed - and I don't even remember what about, so it was probably pretty minor), but that doesn't mean that they may not have something to say on a different topic that I may find worthwhile

Besides, if you only listen to people who have the same opinion as you, then you're just operating in an echo chamber and being closed-minded, right?

And as an epilogue to this, when I got home from work I hopped into the LFG tool again to queue for the vet pledge as a tank (the same as I did this morning before work), got a group in less than a minute, we got the gold key done super fast without any problems at all (I swapped from my tank setup to my ranged DPS setup for the final fight - handy to have a tank who can do that

), and I got a nice VR16 Engine Guardian helm out of it.

The run actually went so smoothly that we were going to repeat in order to helm farm, but the dungeon wouldn't reset without disbanding the group, and as 2 of us were AD and 2 were DC we couldn't disband and then re-invite

I love it when things turn out for the best

Well, I guess the best would have been being able to do another run or two, but still it turned out far better than I'm sure it would have if I hadn't been kicked by a *** this morning lol

There is a major problem with the LFG tool. It seems to reset every time you zone. That really needs to be fixed. I do not think you should have to wait 10 minutes in the same spot to get it to work. So far I have waited 30 minutes and no pop.

Really? Hmm, I had no idea it did that... I have yet to wait longer than 10 minutes for a group, and I haven't zoned while waiting, so that hasn't happened to me.

Well I'm running around doing the King quests in Orsinium so I am in and out of zones. I haven't had a pop in 45 minutes now. I think it resets every time you enter and leave a building.

I just left king Kurog's castle and the timer went from 4 minutes to 0.

It happens if you go anywhere you'd have to sit through a load screen. Considering load times it may be intentional so people don't get put into a group in the middle of a load screen and end up getting booted for being afk before they can load in.

Still, at least your only bumped back in the queue and not dropped entirely

Have yet to wait more than 30 minutes for a group so far, so I just run around gathering mats, clearing dolmens or craft while I'm waiting to kill time and avoid transitions as much as possible.

Yeah. But in what fashion? How much experience do they have running VR16 dungeons? I know when I was new to the pledges I was more comfortable with people of the same level because they'd roughly have the same amount of experience as me. What about myself and the other VR16? Do we have to just get in there and spend an hour on the second boss to find out the 2 low level VR's just aren't doing the DPS?

Call me an elitist, but I wanna do my daily comfortably and quickly.

Yep, you are an elitist. I went ahead the other evening and gave the GFT a try and had a very nice Banished Cells run with a Level 16 group, me being a V16 Healer. Everyone was battle leveled, they received L16 loot, and I got V16 stuff. They had a blast, and I enjoyed it as well. I've run with some inexperienced pugs, but even then I hope we go away having a bit of fun and learn something new to come back and take the boss down the next time.

Being open-minded is indeed the way to go. If you refuse to listen to anyone that doesn't 100% agree with you you may as well just start a cult lol

So it appears that DD's are having very hard time finding groups? I ask mainly because I haven't run a single dungeon on my alt yet or completed a daily ever, and I have 2 chars that are both DD's

DPS are always the most common role by a long shot, so it'll always take significantly longer for them to find groups than for healers or tanks. Doesn't necessarily mean you'll have a very hard time - that depends partly on what time you're looking for a group, and if you're looking for a group for the daily pledge or some other dungeon. If you're on at peak hours and looking for a group for the day's pledge, it probably won't take that long to find a group.

I have 1 hour 3 nights a week to do dailies. The reason I do them is because I need a certain set for PvP (Saturday nights) that's my free time! If I could obtain the set more easily I wouldn't have to ruin everyone's lives that 3 hours a week.

I tried it once because apparently it has been improved and my guildies had already completed their dailies. The second I realised it was what it was I apologised and left group.

Seriously though, the tool is lacking. There must be more criteria for it to function better than "VR16 heal LFG dailies".
