Polearms just so it finally makes the aedric spear abilities make sense. Cant stand having a massive hammer on my back but stabbing everything with a spear...

This, because this also bothers me. More so, the animations and general theme should change. The mechanics would remain exactly the same, but it'd make sense for all weapon users and wouldn't look funny as hell as this fine soul pointed out.

Also change Binding Javelin to a stamina based dot so us Stamplars can have a little variety in our damn DPS builds.

Just to point something out, a scepter is nothing more than a fancy mace.

I agree. I'd like to see two spear weapons. One longspear (Polearm) and one short-spear for a Spear+Shield skill. I'd actually be fine with them putting SPear+Shield in 1H+shield though they really need to adjust the animations for weapon types. The 'stab' technique looks ludicrous with a mace and axe. Its a minor issue but would really improve gameplay if they altered a couple of those animations. Its why I begrudgingly use mace in pvp. Puncture looks so stupid with a mace, but I prefer the mace effects.

On the matter of skills I'd love to see an unarmed/whispering fang skill as a non-weapon skill. I see it as something that would work better with a weapon in hand, and would be more status/cc oriented than raw damage oriented. Leg Sweeps, Takedowns, Hammer fist strikes (Pommel strike) etc. In short something that I could actually believe would work versus an armored knight.

Cross bows in reality pack a harder punch than a standard bow but lacks the range and also it's much faster to shoot arrows with a standard bow. So your crossbow description is flawed. I would like some form or summoned weapon for a battle sorcerer feel. Hand to hand combat was always fun in elder scrolls series. A scythe may be interesting though

Single dagger skill line, with a threat redirection skill and positionals.

    Crossbow and polearms

And give a reason for ravage potions to exist, theives and DB updates would be the perfect time

Spears and javelins. And it is right, javelins as throwing weapons paired with a shield are a good option to bows, you can decrease dmsg and range from them

    Spears only for 2 handers

Hey, it's an MMO, so why not a single weapon that requires a team to wield? :P

    Here's one:

Aedric Spear line will now be known as Aedric Warrior

Blazing Spear and Luminous Spear will now be named Blazing Ember and Luminous Shard, and both Aurora and Binding Javelin have been reworked.

Toppling and Explosive Charge will lose the spear in it's animation and have it replaced with some form of energy coming from the hand, but the mechanics will remain the same.

Spear Shards, despite the name change, will operate exactly as is from before.

The Javelin skills will be truly different (as they're useless as of now); the base skill will be named Aedric Blessings, and will be a toggle ability. When active, all Magicka based attacks will have a 20% chance to cause additional X amount Magic Damage.

The first morph will be called Aedric Aura, where in addition to the previous effect, the user will also gain 2% extra Magicka and an increased chance to the previous effect.

The second morph will be Aedric Armaments, and run off of Stamina and Weapon Power. All melee and stamina based attacks grant extra magical damage by default, and critical strikes leave behind a fire DoT that can stack up to 3 times, but your stamina bar can only fill to 90% of it's maximum.

Puncturing Strikes, and by extension it's two morphs, will retain the similar mechanics but have new animations that make it weapon neutral. Essentially, the animation would follow a cast time and all the damage would be done up front, doing a conal aoe with the nearest/first target taking the 140% extra damage. As for the animation, I'm imagining either a thrust into the ground or an overhead slam with the weapon to send a shockwave forward, or a singular swing or thrust into the air to send a blast forward.

    Thoughts?

Spears and polearms are the natural choice and the glaring thing missing for me. But I would also like to see flails.

Scepters (A magicka version of swords- so Dual Scepters or Scepter and Shield)
Most of all I would like to have the historical two kinds of shields:
    • the offensive buckler, like gladiators used, that comes close to Dual Wield with a short stabbing sword and a small lightweight blunt bashing shield (should have less block damage mitigation, but still stamina recovery, and the armor enchant)
    • the defensive big shield, the only one we have now, for more damage mitigation, increased protection for projectiles, no stamina recovery)

I see absolutely nobody using the defensive ones if this was created, simply because of the stamina re-gen. If they made defensive ones have, say 30% regen and the bucklers 50% then it would work.

Agree with you for almost all players,
they will choose between pure weapon strenght or a buckler.
    but the full tanks...
    hmmm
say the base block mitigation of the defensive shield stays 50% and the buckler gets 25%.
I think the full tanks will still crack their minds between the two shields.
Please consider that currently some of the best tanks, according to the leaderboards, still stick to Footman & Hist Bark for the extra mitigation, so fully dedicated to mitigation.

BTW I think that adding such a buckler would take out the sting, would diminish the toxicity of the Stamina recovery nerf discussion.
