Or is the consensus it is genuinely too difficult for some classes?
If you want the casuals to shut up, make maelstrom weapon drop chance 10% in normal, 100% in vet. The complaints will slow down a lot. Right now the vet is too hard for 95% of the players here. They either have to nerf it or make same drops available in normal, just at a lower rate.

Im not a great PvE player, above average but not elite, and very much doubt i can clear this without putting 16 hours straight into it.
THAT is what pisses me off and will end up with me leaving the game. Not interested in PvPing knowing i am not complete.
This arena is only for DPS. As a tank I cannot do anything. I had to respec. There is no mechanic if you do not die in 20 minutes you complete the roundDarnathian wrote: »So Zos hates tanks. That is obvious. This is icing on the cake.
Any tanks able to finish this? Paul?

Yeah, laters ESO, i aint got time for 12 hour arenas.

Question: does vet arena save your progress or you supposed to go through all stages in one sitting? If the latter, thats *** up.. goodbye master weapons

First of im on ps4 im a sorc and I cant wait for this challenge. Its not fun sleep walking through stuff.
Man I remember the rush I had the first time I beat sanctum I long for that feeling again. Sanctum was was hard it took is three days of practice to beat it.
Or just complain to the point where they nerf it to the point that we are pretty much having a pillow fight.
Ok i will post my opinion on the matter:
First of all: I play a sorc - so i´m blessed by the ZOS pve gods because their only way of creating "challenging" pve content is by designing 1 shot mechanics that you have to memorize.
Fortunately a sorc can bypass those by having 25k+ shields in pve and get away with a lot of mistakes or lazy gameplay. I would have never gotten to the 7th stage (only 2 deaths - yay) with another class most likely. In the end i quit after 40 minutes (I literally could not bring myself to finish it even one time) because if you´re looking past the stupid frustrating design (not for sorcs though) it´s the epitome of boring content.
The design of the arena is tedious if we´re being nice. Every stage is functioning in the same way. Lern the two or three mechanics - avoid them collect loot or not - rgn is your friend. It´s to some extend melee unfriendly aswell (why is it so hard to design content equally challenging for ranged and melee builds?).
The arena has extreme class and role bias (f*ck tanks and healers right?) aswell as stupid designed mechanics where the only challenging part is not getting instantly killed while putting up enough dps.
If it´s that kind of content zos wants to sell i´m glad they´ve treated the pvp part of the game like the ugly stepchild because no content is better than this (if you have to play it for your endgame).
I think there should be challeging content. The only concern I have is why there is more players of one class than managed to complete it than other classes. The disparity of classes is amazing right now in NA:
1 DK
13 Sorcs
7 Nightblade
3 Templars
Interesting...
But to make any assumption would be dumb, so I'll just leave it in the air. To really make an statement, we would have to know the numbers of players trying Vet Mael and their classes to calculate a %. Perharps DK isn't as popular as Sorc...perharps...is something else...
To conclude, I agree with most posters that say this challenge shouldn't be beaten by the majority in 1 day. And if at least one member of each class did it, then it is possible for anyone do it. Everything is very subtle, I say give it time.
