Race change

    • Race change breaks immersion and makes the race choise at character creation meaningless. I love how I can plan a build before I create a character and that I have to choose the right race for the build if I want it to be more efficiently. I agree with @laced, what we need is a face sculptor.

    What's a face sculptor?

Pretty much you could change anything that was changeable in the default character creation.

They should just remove all racials that give benefits in combat, that way people can pick their race based on lore, culture, and aesthetics.

The racials that allow you to learn weapon/armor skills faster are fine, because that adds flavor while leveling, and no combat advantages at end game.

The Elder Scrolls have always had racials, and I sincerely hope always will... Some of those naturally have always given advantage in certain types of combat. Zenimax should NOT remove racials. Rather, they should simply make sure every race has some sort of combat-oriented racial skill, while not making everything identical.

I'm not a min/maxer, so I guess I just don't care about some relatively tiny advantage once everything else is decided. I pick which race I want to play regardless of racials. Seriously, it's not going to make a life-or-death difference. I wish everyone would stop wanting to make everything the same.

I'm not sure I like the idea of having to purchase the latest race change in order to keep up with what is overpowered in whatever latest patch that gets released. That's a pretty dangerous slippery slope. Perhaps they could offer 'racial options' to fit some alternate themes. Even so, its problematic thematically.

    Please let us change races!

I made a Bosmer toon. Many months later, I purchased the Imperial Edition bundle (finances allowed for it finally). However, if I want to make an Imperial I'm expected to make an entirely new character and that stinks.

ZOS needs to implement either [1] a way for people who purchase the Adventurer Pack or Digital Imperial Edition Upgrade after making characters, to change all existing characters' races or [2] an in-game gold and out-of-game crowns way to purchase race changes (e.g. in-game shrines and out-of-game respecification scrolls).
