I finished both the ColdHarbour and "vestige" quests, and decided to move on to the next faction area to quest. Now, I previously had read some info on Cadwell's silver/gold quests, but had no idea when those would come into effect.

So, I was surprised when I was moving my cursor around and suddenly found Cadwell's Almanac - and then the light came on.

What happens when you finish the silver and gold quests?

If I do all the quests in each area, will I get credit for doing Cadwell's Silver/Gold quests when I run across it during my travels and do it then?

I'm vr1, when and how can I get to Craglorn?

Thanks.

    Hi there!

-Cadwell's silver and gold will be completed if and when you complete the objectives in the almanac.
You can either do all the quests and complete each zone achievement which will also complete the almanac or you can just do the required parts.

-when finishing both gold and silver is

The quest start is in The Harbourage of whatever faction you started in. It should take you directly to your next faction when started.

The "Go to Craglorn" quest will be waiting for you in your factions capital... or the other factions capitals when you do cadwells, even.

Cadwells has been mentioned, start at harborage, which will transport you to the next faction, you can either dash through or do it all. In times of c-points, there isn't really that much of a reason to just do the required questlines - all those questing expees make for good c-points... and of course there is grabbing all the skyshards for more skill points... and those lorebooks to max mages guild, daedra/undead kills to max fighter guild... those are the real rewards for cadwells, not the vendor trash you get at the end ;)

This is how to get to each region:

First, do your Harborage quests every 5 Levels. Eventually, you will be confronted by the Mage's Guildmaster. From there you will go through Coldharbour to assault Molag Bal. After you finish, Varen will contact you for the final battle against Molag Bal to get your soul back. Once you do this, Cadwell will send you on your way to the next faction area. This is Cadwell's Silver!

To complete Cadwell's Silver you must complete all of the objectives listed in Cadwell's Almanac. Once you do, return to the Harborage in your initial faction to claim your reward and begin Cadwell's Gold. Cadwell's Gold will send you to the third faction area, thus granted you access to all 3 regions! Completing Cadwell's Gold at this point is just for the sake of questing.

Craglorn is different though. To get to Craglorn you must first become Veteran Rank 1 which is achieved at Level 50. Then, go to your faction's capitol (Elden Root, Mournhold, or Wayrest) and locate a cart with a quest NPC next to it. This NPC will request your aid in Craglorn and take you there.

    Hope this helps!

So you don't have to do Cadwell's to get to Craglorn?

I ask because I have no interest in cross-over alliance questing, and am hoping to be able to do the VR leveling in Orsinium after completing 1-50 content in each character's own alliance areas, but would be interested in Craglorn too if that was available to me.

Nope you can skip Gold/Silver, Craiglorn is separate. You can just get on the cart.

Be warned though, there are a bucket-ton of skyshards and quest related skill points in Silver/gold... plus mages guild leveling lore books.

Yes I appreciate that, thanks. My main aim is to see all the content initially through characters of the right alliance, once I've done that then I may go back through the different alliance areas with Cadwell's if there's a need to do so.

Good luck with that VR leveling my friend, 'cause you would be missing all the XP from Caldwell's quests... keep us posted when you reach V16 by 2020

Lmao, Im vet 16 and have done 0 silver, gold or craglorn. I level in Cyrodiil, its the fastest way to level. Way faster than doing plot quests. In 25ish min you can do all of Cropsford repeatable quests and gain 1/3rd of a vet level. In less than 2 hours you can gain a vet level.

You wanna get to vet 16 quickly, do Cyrodiil. Im now gonna start questing :)

You can get to VR16 by doing Cyrodil quests and public dungeons. If you have IC that will work as well but do what you like. Enjoy the game before skipping stuff at least once

That wouldn't bother me in the slightest. I started at PC launch, my highest character (of 14) is 41.

I'm not expecting Orsinium to level me to "the endgame" which is a meaningless term to me. I'm expecting it to play an alternative part in getting me beyond 50, and then we'll take it from there according to other future additional content as well as checking out Craglorn depending on how it goes. I certainly won't be leveling through PvP, that's for sure, I have no interest whatsoever in PvP. I'm here for the long term and for the journey, I couldn't care less about the destination.

Indeed, but the way for some of us to enjoy the different alliance content is by doing it with characters of the appropriate alliance, rather than breaking the lore and doing it all on one character through Cadwell's. As for Cyrodiil and IC, I have no interest in PvP.

I like to quest, but I also want to level up. I noticed that I get plenty of experience with doing quests in the second area (Cadwell's Silver - I do all the quests beginning with the start area), and my Templar is almost at vr2.

I did a few days in Cyrodiil, scouting missions, but as a level 1 solo playing, I got my rear-end handed to me several times (I don't even fight them, it's no use). I have some quests there that require me to enter some towns that are not "owned" by any of the three factions, but the imperials in those towns are still red, and they're all level 14, so no doing those quests. I also noticed all the animals are level 14, so no chance to kill them, either.

So, I'll do all the quests and eventually get a little higher, then find a PvP/PvE guild, and things should be better in Cyrodiil.

I'm running my char through silver and gold doing everything. Played a little in cyrodil but I think I need the skill points from cadwells to level up 4 crafting professions.

We all have our own ways of playing, that's cool. I've almost finished Cadwell's Silver, started at Vr1, now almost Vr8. Loads of sky shards, and CP. When you start Silver or Gold the enemies are leveled higher than if it was your starting faction so It's not a breeze. I went from EP home faction to DC for Silver and the wolves a Vr1. If you go to Craglorn you have camels, and a emu type bird that are literally level 1, the lowest enemy wild creature is Vr10. Craglorn is really meant for groups, but I'm sure at Vr10-11 it starts becoming possible to do solo.
The other thing is you have all races in your alliance area, very few from outside granted, but a few. So It's not against lore to be of a race outside of your alliance. Remember before the war everywhere was part of the empire, people would travel and make new homes, and some would become loyal to their new home.
There is a side mission in either EP or DC, (can't remember DC I think), were you meet a very suspicious wood elf. She seems like she's a spy kitted out in her leather armour, and is rather strange. she asks you to kill various dreadful terrifying monsters that she is afraid of. Each time I thought it was going to be a trap, but each time I found her terrifying monster was a rabbit, or some other creature you could kill by looking at it. Afterwards she gave me a reward, and made some sly comment about me. She never came up as an enemy even though she was a race from another alliance. I'm sure I've met a few traders and scholar quest givers from outside the alliance area I've been in at the time, but these have mainly been neutral, rather than pro or anti.
A little known real life example of this is during WWII Germans that escaped to Britain were made to work on farms and do other such work. Young men who had proved their loyalty, and that they were willing to help were put into a special unit. They were the dropped behind enemy lines to perform special operations. Who better to do this job than a native speaker, who knows the culture intimately, or a Brit/US soldier with an accent, and maybe just enough knowledge of German culture to hopefully get by.
Just because a country is your enemy it doesn't mean everyone from that country is your enemy.
