Any point in WWs heavy attack?

Is there any point in the heavy attack of Werewolves? The damage increase for heavy attacks over light attacks seems marginal and when you factor in the charge time you do less DPS than when using light attacks.

Stamina back on heavy attack, and also I have been able to time my heavy attack while walking towards players so I get a burst hit when I have come close to them.
I also believe heavy attack knows down enemies if they are "off-balance".

To add to the above the heavy attack has a cleave to it, so you can hit several targets at once. The pack leader's passive procs per target hit with a heavy attack last I checked, meaning you can gain a decent amount of time with heavy attacks. The heavy attack doesn't proc bleeds however.
