Question for Master Anglers

Can it be done solo or did you predominantly only fish when you had a partner? Is the bonus for having multiple players necessary or will I go mad trying to pull it off solo?

Of course it can be done solo, but it's much more fun with other players who enjoy fishing. I did all the provinces alone except for a part of Cyrodiil and Imperial City. It's better to be with other players in Cyrodiil and IC to avoid being ganked by lazy enemy players who see you as an easy prey. I'll be fishing Orsinium next week. Enjoy your fishing.

I did it all solo EVEN in Cyrodiil.

I had no problem with gankers but it wasn't relaxing fishing like it was in the other zones.

If I ever see enemy players fishing in Cyrodiil or IC, I sneak up nice and close, and when they're least expecting it, I cast my own line into the same fishing hole they're using. It's actually only happened once in IC, and I was gambling that the other guy wouldn't instinctively attack the second I came out of stealth, but it worked out nicely. We were both sitting there fishing in stealth for a little while - I could always see his line, but I could only see him when he briefly came out of stealth to reel his fish in.

I did mine all solo, other than random players casting the same hole. Even Cyrodiil and IC, and gankers are a problem there. Low lifes would rather get easy AP, and fishers are easy prey.

I think it's all RNG for this, but you do get better chance at catching rare fishes with other people fishing with you.

Not to stray off topic, but the best thing about PvP is when players don't attack each other. F**k fighting, let's fish!

Yeah agree.. Specially in the city, where people questing. I never attack people just want to open vault or finish quests. But in sewers everything are allowed

Yes, yes.....it can be done solo. You must have lots of patience and other things to do with your other hand at your disposal

Ok so I've begun my journey and have found that I'm usually a pretty good judge of the various water types (ocean, river, lake, swamp). I can hit the right type of bait right off the bat. So far I've found a few green fish and one blue. The blue came when I was fishing a hole with two other players.. But they seemed angry that I was fishing with them. Maybe they were after perfect roe and not rare fish? Anyway my quest continues and I love it so far. It takes exploration to the next level
