DK's need to be buffed. This is true.

1. Happy to run vDSA with ya... would prefer me to tank on my squishy DK or keep you alive on my heal-bot Templar?

4. Agreed, but only for PVP... magicka DK tank, heal & dps are all in an alright place for PVE.

When I heal I don't care about your chain, I just want you not to die so easily. I can confidently say that the squishiest class in game is a DK, and that you sir are still new. Even a light armor sorc can out tank most DK's

Look don't listen to this joker, if you can choose a class for tanking choose a Templar or Nb. These are the best atm with sorcerer very close behind and DK last. DK's don't really have any other mitigation other than armor, block and dodge. If you want to be the best tank, you need to do more than that.

I run a magika dk tank it is very good if you know how too play it .... Pvp + Pve
You need endgame gear and a lot of experience with the class or it will not be good in pvp

Wait? Did Zlater just use tanking Dark Shade Caverns as "collective data' towards his Sorc being a viable (good) endgame tank?

The entire dungeon can be ran with 4 dps.

NB - Best damage for your group whilst healing / tanking. The current min max to group dps output 4 man or trials.

DK - Best mitigation to damage ratio with sustain, can also mass cc / talon / chain pull mobs to one area. Very helpful tank all round and can add moderate dps with burning / dots.

Templar - Best off heals and self cleanse whilst tanking, however basically does zero dps (Only considered decent if you can take 3 full dps, having a templar tank dramatically lowers your 4 mans dps output).

Sorc - Can stack shields / can tank most content fine. Does zero damage. Does zero healing. You lose alot of dps and healing overal in time when letting a sorc tank your group there for really lowering the speed or efficiency your group has.

This pretty much sums of the cookie cutter overview of where tanks are now. Is there a best overall tank? *** no. Are there classes who are clearly stronger and better suited to min maxing your 4 man. *** yes.
