Say long loading screens last a minute and there are 15 loading screens an hour... That's 15 minutes of "downtime" every hour... I play an average of 4 hours at a time. For a daily player, that's 1 hour of "downtime" every day. If ZOS maintenance decreases the loading screen "downtime" to 15 seconds per loading screen, that's less than 5 minutes of "downtime" an hour, saving over 40 minutes a session... Playing daily, that's 280 minutes a week... Almost 5 hours! With a 30 day month, that's 1200 minutes saved... That's 20 hours... 5 sessions... There's your "compensation." Thanks ZOS...

Do people really have to wait up to a minute for loading screens, reminds me of Morrowind?

I honestly thought people were griping about the up to fifteen seconds that they take.. (for me) I thought that was pretty bad. Usually I have a one minute long loading screen which is when I first enter the game. Other than that they are 5-15 seconds most of the time.

What causes the difference? Internet? PC? Is it the same on consoles?

I get around a minute on console. I use a wired connection that is typically very fast/responsive. It's only really annoying when i first start out feeding horses on alts and doing writs.

The numbers are irrelevant... The point is, the downtime makes for a decrease in in-game downtime... So it's a net-win....

I recently tried to get m'aiq achievement, that was many loadings..
Im checking alot of guild stores every day.. loading.
A quick goldpledge is done in 15 mins..

OK, you made me do it....timed all loading screens on the PS4.....seemed like 5 minutes but actually it was only a little over 1 minute....really not bad if you think about it. Gives me time to get something to drink...

When I am using Psyjic potions I QUIT the game instead of logging out.

It does make a difference in how much time you have left with the potion.

Theses numbers could possibly be accurate but in reality the time perloading screen is insignificant compared to the times when its all added up over long term

I'm on the XBox as well and 20 seconds isn't what I'm seeing. On average, it's about 35 seconds, depending on the area.

Excluding launch, I never saw the "This may be an unusually long load time" message prior to the patch/IC rollout.

Now, it's every time.

I was hoping the hardware update would fix this, but alas, it did not.

If it was just the loading screens, I wouldn't care, but the lag hits the game making it frustrating to play, which is why I'm not.

Looks like now I'll have to wait until the rollout of the DLC next week. If the delay gets any longer, well, there's always Fallout 4 in 3 weeks.

this is true i do sometimes get the unuasally long loading time on my vet 10+ but they did all content in all cadwell's area's so it logic they take up more time to load

Yeah. I cant imagine anyone bouncing around the map that many times in an hour. Not unless theyre purposely doing it to rack up Loading Screen Time for a fictitious argument about loading screen times.

What does vet content have to do with anything? My first character never saw the message and that's doing both Gold and Silver.

No, the issue is related to software/server. Something changed. Whether or not ZoS can fix it remains to be seen.

It only happened after IC, so that's probably got something to do with how the game is communicating with the server.

Whatever it is, I just wish it would get fixed.

Well, loading screens are still as long as they were before the maintenance (average 1min30-2m for me) but with a new bug : I can't alt-tab anymore when changing characters (loading screen from the character sheet), or I crash.
Some of my guildmates had this bug already before, but this is new for me

PS4 here and yes 45secs to OVER a minute.
And its not my Internet because I didnt get this before Imperial DLC.

No its not the Internet, since I didnt have long load screens before Imperial DLC.

Also as a quester I go through an obscene amount of load screens. Thats just questing, not including all the wayshrines, dungeons and city trips I have to make.

Questing goes like this, get quest, go dungeon, go multiple rooms in said dungeon or cave, load back out, now go cave or cellar, oh group finder popped, go vet dungeon, wayshrine travel to hand in undaunted daily, wayshrine back to questing.

Well a general breakdown of my day to day routine goes more or less like this:

Character A - Log in (load screen). Collect hireling mail. Port to home faction zone to pick up daily writs (load screen).
Port to Craglorn to turn in writs (load screen). log out.

Character B - Log in (load screen). Collect hireling mail. Port to home faction zone to pick up daily writs (load screen). Port to Craglorn to turn in writs(load screen). log out.

Character C - Log in (load screen). Collect hireling mail. Port to home capitol to pick up daily writ and undaunted pledge (load screen). Port to Craglorn to turn in writs (load screen). Port to dungeon to complete daily pledge (load screen). Port back to capital to turn in pledge (load screen). log out.

That's a lot of load screens to get through just to get my dailies out of the way and that's with only three characters. Imagine how long it would take with eight or more. That's also assuming I don't get stuck in the infinite load loop or the game freezes up while loading and I have to force the client to close, restart it and sit through another series of load screens. It's getting to be a serious kill joy at this point.

it is true that the loading screens did take longer after IC DLC.
but i also do mainly solo quest and those loading screens arent long at all. the only long loading times are when you switch to a different area from auridon to deshaan for example but into cellars and delves just takes a few seconds. i am on ethernet though might make a difference
