Tamriel Poetry Discussion - A Nereid Stole My Husband

This is a thread for those who appreciate the art of poetry. Today I figured we could discuss this brilliant piece. The choice of words has always bewildered me in this very specific poem but for some reason it just speaks to me.

A nereid stole my husband
My husband a nereid stole
Beware the maids of the seastrand
Lest you be the next we console.
We strolled blithely along the shore
Gathering shells and turning stones
When came the voice I now deplore
A voice, a song, such soaring tones!
At once, my husband quickly sped
"Wait!" I cried, "'Tis a nereid!"
But faster still he pressed ahead
Her sweet call could not be gainsaid.
Too late, alas, alas, too late
I found him swaying, deep in thrall

Makes me realise that Nereids are very much like Sirens. I kind of gathered that by how they looked and sounded, but this piece definitely clarifies it for me.
Always enjoy reading literature on the mysterious in Elder Scrolls.

Heh. Not the best-written poem I've come across, but certainly amusing.

    Summarized as:

    A nereid stole my husband,
    My husband a nereid stole.
    Though he was never a prize to be had;
My husband a nereid spurned whole.
Not even daedra have two left feet!

And yes, they are. They are quite spooky to come across as well. Although strangely mesmerizing.

    Must. Start. Poetry. Club.

Seriously, a few ESO inside jokes would go well with limericks, I think.

    Poetry Club Guild. Wow.

    Good idea actually.

Right, so first we need some bards, doesn't matter if they can sing or not (we'll just get them to take off their pants, that's bound to get us some attention.)

Next, find a popular zone and spam zone chat.

    Done.

We should have members pouring in in no time.

Maybe offer some sweetrolls and some nice wine we can steal from IC.

People can even present their own work and then we can flame them, as a good ol' eso community!

Bards?? I can do that, well try. I enjoy playing, though I'm a terrible singer. I would like to present my rendition of "If I were a carpenter" (short version).
Pants are totally optional as well. I find them restraining anyway, just like socks. Please, don't even get me started on socks.
And er, quality is terrible because I don't own a proper microphone. Literally used the tiny hole on my laptop. Good times.

Dancers I can provide aplenty in all factions in EU (not joking).

We'll now need a few lyricists to set the mood, and of course, a venue.

We'll put the pantsless bards on standby in charge of catering. No one will notice what they're eating. Problem solved.

Why do you keep insisting on pantless bards, what?

And why not? Do you have a better alternative?

We could also go with shirtless bards I suppose, maybe we should just let the bards decide...
