Starting all over again

I'm thinking of starting a new character on the EU (PC) server to play with friends. I'm just curious about what the forum community here thinks.

Knowing what you know now after rolling your original character(s), if you had to start all over again, what would you roll and why?

I would probably go Altmer Templar, because that would give me chance to use more efectively Magicka healing spec. Won't be changing race though even if they add it eventually. Not so big deal.

I started with a templar, got to vr2, then I re-rolled with a stam nightblade. Its not as badass as it used to be but I think it's still one of the most fun classes to play.

    Sounds fun.

If your friends already have character ideas, then you might pick something that synergizes with them.

I mostly started playing on EU to get my ESO fix while NA servers were down - now they are BOTH having maintenance :'(

    Go with what seems fun.

I have two characters who are based on my attempts to roll up an Orc who will look like and I can play as a goblin. Both are Templars.

I have one character that is totally a result of playing around with random stuff on the character generator. She's a Breton NB with an eyepatch; Domino Fae the Pirate Queen.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

I'd love to reroll, but I already have 8 characters. 4 Nightblades (2 mag, 2 stam), 2 stam DKs, 2 Sorcs (1 stam 1 mag).
If I had space, I'd probably go with Magicka DK, because I'm pretty familiar with the DK as a class and enjoy it. Also I haven't explored the magicka side too much, so it'd be a new experience.
Will most likely delete one of my NB's to make room in the end.

    I tried 3 times.
Can't get past level 12 without massive boredom and lack of power kicking in.
    3 unused characters :(
What's the matter? Did somebody steal your sweet roll?

You need to find some motivation. Mine is right now to get eventually v16 prismatic weapon + transport consumables crafting away from my main.

I'd go with a Templar just to allow me to be able to heal, tank or dps.
That way, regardless of what happens, you're not stuck.
As far as race....well that depends on what version of the game you have or the faction you choose but go with what you think looks best and maybe consider racial passives if you have a specific play style preference.

Yeh race would probably be decided on what passives complemented how I intend to play the character.

Are you in any guilds that have social events? Take your alts. It's more fun in a group.

I've got 3 alts that are now in their 20-30s just from going to guild events.

    OP:
I would probably roll a character of each class.

I have a v16 NB and that character took for ever to create and I really struggled with some of the PvE solo. Then I started an Imperial Templar and that was soooo much easier playing solo. I love my v16 Templar the most, its so versatile, best healer class in the game, easy to DPS without the need to respec skills, very popular for end game group PvE and pledges and really great for group PVP. I think Templars will be great for the upcoming solo Maelstrom arena too. Only downside is 1v1 or 1vX PVP, you will lack escape/fight reset cabilities.

So my advice: Templar! The Battery Build of Deltias works really well in my opinion and I love the play style

    Thanks for the ideas.

Now (in the order I'm most interested in playing them) I'm thinking I will roll:

    1 Redguard stam NB
    2 Imperial stam DK
    3 Altmer magicka Sorc
4 Altmer or Breton magicka Templar

What do you think is a better race for healing Templar in 4?

I'd choose Breton for the spell resistance and cost reduction personally

Play as a templar( Stam or magi).
For stam, jab+repentance and for magi, sweep(or Radiant Oppression)+repentance+inner light are good for grinding.
