I suggest zenimax to pay to real testers, your not gonna find em in your offices, your gonna find em outside, playing the real game. This is very interesing. Should be listen.
judging from how Fengrush talks, it sounds like pvp is affecting personality a lot...
i experienced this for a bit playing warzones in swtor... you build an ego and want to win all the time and you get impatient too... it's not healthy to play too much pvp, without being willing to lose too...
i did not understand everything (they were saying sth like "meta"?) but i think Content Design should encourage people to spread in the world and minimize the forming of large groups (zergs) unless it's about capturing a keep, where Content Design would require to be in a large group (e.g. one player with a trebuchet would not be able to attack a wall in a keep)...
much PVE content should be doable in small groups or solo too with an average builld and average skills slotted for an average player. this would ensure that there is fluctuation of players/money/rewards... people would not need to be in a large group to complete dailies... 80%-TS-losses should decreased to 25% or 20% for the first killer, with a cooldown of 15 minutes, sth like that (if you know what i mean)
players that get killed in IC by another player should be able to ressurrect at the same spot after 10 seconds or so , just like swtor , in order to be able get a revenge-round and learn stuff...
i never ever have been able to find some fun in pvp in ESO unfortunately... the lessons i got teached were super-short and really discouraged 200% to further push my luck. It's sandbox , but some numbers were just unacceptable for the real money and for the real time to be invested...the ratio between fun and real life investment , whether it's time, money, patience, commitment was so extremely diverged, that i just gave up...
if you are a good pvp player and have good friends to practice with and can harvest successes a lot with killing smaller groups, then i suggest you to be happy with those crops and not require to be able to kill zergs with a small group... it would destroy an RP-balance and real life balance too, where big groups normally kill small groups; that's a MMO standard rule ; 1vX-situation should be possible but with limitations, even when nuking newbies. Absolutely no doubts about that, for the sake of the greater satisfaction...Maybe introducing a special pvp-trait for every piece of gear that could work like the expertise-stat in swtor's pvp-gear could bring a solution to balance things... those whol want pvp, wear pvp-gear; those who want pve, wear pve-gear...
I think content design should make changes and give opportunities and diversified activities to prevent zergs.. (arena, instanced, easier dailies)
i haven't played for 2 months maybe or 3 (since i deleted) , and i always mixed medium armor with magicka build ( i wanted a stealthy DOT dps with healing), but i never got to 2000 spell damagge and my healing ward never advanced... i just gave up...especially seeing youtube-guys with 4000 damage or 3000 and with extremely high resource-regeneration along the way.... it felt like a not trustworthy science to pursue...i got killed in Craglorn extremely fast too with many shields and defense on... too troublesome the game for me... i never had pvp-problems with other games... although they are all theme-park mmo's (swtor and gw2) but the fun and a sense of progress was there...
i'm sorry for ESO, because some aspects of the game are the best worldwide, but some core-aspects are not trustworthy for me personally...
ok, thank you for reading so far my brainstormed text..i hope you can agree with some content and all the best to you all and have fun with ESO
I agree with many of their opinions on PVP, but it seems like that don't have much grasp on PVE and truly I wish they'd stop mentioning PVE aspects without at least a PVE focused guest to filter it.
Fengrush tends to spit game. I like his blunt but pointed approach.
I hear what they are saying but pvp centric players have a tendency to believe mmo's are for pvp and that the entire game revolves around their wants and desires. The truth is (as I perceive it) pvp is secondary to the fully immersive mmo experience and it always will be because most people who play mmorpg's are there to look at a cool vista to experience a world where they can visit ancient ruins and learn cool fantasy stories...
The Orsinium DLC is going to be a smash hit and I think they all know it.
The wonderful thing about mmo's is you can put them down for a while and come back to them and it will be an almost new experience.
Edit: That comment about arena's (and the fact that they already exist lol) rang true to me... I just hope that it's ignored and we get arena's.
