Is this an exploit or just coincidence? Anyone else having issues in craglorn with craft quests?

So twice now in less than a week, I've done my daily craft quests, gone to crag, got a map and then went to get my rewards. When I got there, somebody else is in the area, not uncommon, we all harvest the same spots, over and over. Then I lose connection, everything drops. When I get back in, my rewards are gone and I certainly didn't get them.
Bug or new exploit? Or just really bad luck? This never happened before this week.

Not an exploit if it's to your disadvantage. Also if I am not mistaken you are not the only person to report this. However, I do not seem to really have this issue on PS4 so it might help if you tell us your platform.

When you are at the location of a survey map, the behaviour is that if you touch just ONE of the nodes at the site, the map counts as used and is removed from your inventory. So if you disconnect or go too far from the area (or rezone) at that point, the remaining nodes are GONE until you get a NEW survey map. This is working as designed, not a bug. Try to avoid getting disconnected while harvesting from your survey maps. If there is any bug or problem, it is whatever is causing your disconnections, not the behaviour of the survey maps / nodes.

This, and also people who are standing nearby are obviously players who received the same map as you did. They have no power to interfere with your harvesting, nor are they can steal anything that you're supposed to harvest.

What add-ons are you running? I would try disabling them and see if you get the same effect.
