There are a lot of people who ARE hyped for the new DLC. New content always brings people back, even if it's just for curiosity. This is especially true on console. I know the que for IC was 400 deep on launch. That kind of suggests that a lot of players wanted to check out new content. Orsinium will be far more popular than IC, because it caters to the largest portion of the player base. And bear mounts.

It's possible that the PC player base doesn't return at the same rate as console. But having seen the mass exodus from destiny, only to be followed by resurgence when DLC drops, I'm willing to bet we see a spike in activity when Eso's DLC drops.

Wish there was a way to see data backing this claim of PvE players outnumbering PvP players. It is an ES game at the end of the day but it was built with a pretty damn good combat system. A lot of my friends who were in it for the PvP have logged on less and less. Some haven't returned at all.

It is kind of hard to go back to another game like WoW after being exposed to a game that has no cooldowns among other things.

After playing and reading I think its clear we all love eso. It also seems that eso is in a position where it could easily bring people back which is a statement other games cannot make. I think if you are eso its a good position. If you are a player its a good position. Good needs to become great now.

I still have faith. I can also say ill be playing until the end. I will even treat halo 5 as my game on the side to eso. That's saying a lot

ESO was in a position to bring back players for a long time but new games come out. Not everyone is resilient like you. After playing with a number of builds on 3 characters, the lack of polish this game currently has is showing. There were a lot of things I had to figure out on my own which was pretty annoying.

With Battlefront coming out, it is a reminder of the DLC pay model. Im not crazy about buying a bunch of DLCs for a game I just won't have time for in ESO. In addition to Battlefront releasing, Blade and Soul is gathering quite a bit of traction and looks promising. Overwatch will be amazing as well.

Coming off of watching the latest episode of ESO live, the game's future just seems so much more uncertain. They still aren't addressing PvP content for small scale as a short term concern (immediate) nor consistently addressing the removal of Veteran Ranks and scaling up of Trials/old content. The game will likely end up similar to ArcheAge if it hasn't already. Lots of potential but too slow to act on it.

    RIP

You only used one excellent word to describe me? I'm offended! I'm kidding. Thanks for saying it. Those other games will serve as a reminder as to why eso has a strong frame.

Long loading screens and occasional lag is what has kept me semi-absent from the forums (and the game). I've started playing my other fav games instead to pass the time (DAI for one). But I am eagerly awaiting Orsinium. I imagine there will be a flood of people returning to the game once it launches. Let's face it, the ES series' fans have up until ESO been single players, so there are many (myself included) who prefer PvE - so new content of that type is very welcome

for pvp really all they have to do is fix issue and balance classes and they would have many player coming back to eso

As long as ZOS is responding to the currently popular and overused builds and tactics with balance fixes to counter those tactics, this game will never be balanced. When these options are described as "interesting" by Wrobel, that worries me greatly. It suggests to me that he is focusing on reacting, and that means that he cannot balance the game without knowing what the players are going to do next. Naturally, this is going to create some mind boggling decisions to tweak the game in very specific ways.

As long as they keep balancing the game like this, they will never actually balance it and will just annoy the players in the process.

ZOS is not addressing "pvp for small scale" because no matter how much you hem and haw and spam twitch chat, ESO's pvp was simply NOT DESIGNED FOR SMALL SCALE.

Period. Its a Keep Sieging, large-scale open field pvp game. It always has been.

It's not a Team Deathmatch or 1vs1 dueling game.

Until they decide to put team deathmatch in the game for the COD kiddies, you probably wont hear anything about "small scale pvp".

There are plenty of MMOs with lobby shooter team deathmatch(aka "Arena") out there and not very many large scale pvp MMOs to carry the DAoC torch.

Whats the obsession with turning something unique in the genre into a generic Lobby Shooter?
COD kiddies ?! cmoon go bck to your hole. No one complain about big grp pvp... ppl complain about lag. "ESO's pvp was simply NOT DESIGNED FOR SMALL SCALE.

Unhappy buyers that don't want to give Zos their business and buyers like myself that feel scammed that they bought into their false advertisement. IC was never a pvp dlc and Zos knows it

It is a PVP DLC... and it is a PVE DLC. It is just not a pure DLC of either.

Like I said earlier, it probably would have worked, as a mixed DLC, if it were not in Cyrodiil.

That statement right there... Just plain makes me hang my head down and sigh. Makes me think people treat this game as a game you beat and move on rather than an MMO. I guess I can't really blame them since this game has less of an MMO feel than others but still...

Like why nerf absorbs by 50%, that was too much, especially for Templar's and DK's.

We have Shieldbreaker sets now, so shield absorbs reduced by 50% is just absolutely pointless. It should have been around 20%.

The idea was to reduce everything by 50%. What Zenimax didn't do though is give the NPCs Battle Spirit, or at least nerf them to take it into account. Some people seem to enjoy the challenge though so whuddyagunnado...

Well I wouldn't necessarily include "survive". What if you want to die for kicks? lol

Now listen here you crazy person .... oh... actually I have done that. This is one of my fondest memories of early IC. I forget which writ it was ... Temple, I think. Anyway I was playing EP, and there were a group of AD that ganked us right below the respawn site. Instead of surface Cyrodiil, I just popped back right there. It was startling and weird and .. they were still there.

So I jumped down and attacked. And got killed. And jumped back down. I had no TV stones, they weren't getting any AP after the first time, and it was a bit surreal.

And it was also really .... cool. Like a montage of movies where the character gets knocked down six times and gets up seven. I started waving at them before I jumped down, just to be annoying. Apparently it was really annoying because they started throwing ultimates up onto the respawn platform - there was like 3 times in a row where I got killed so fast my /wave didn't have time to go off.

But it was the point at which I started to take death in PvP so much less seriously. PvP started... just started to be a fun crazy, non-permanently-suicidal kind of thing.

On a slightly related note, this was also what allowed me to form the basis of Cruveth's (my house dres refugee dunmer DK) obsession with the sewers. Being soulless, she can't die, so she thows herself over and over into "hopless" combat in an attempt to redeem her life, and atone for things that she's done.

Battlefront? That amazing battlefield reskin? Yeah a skin is really worth £60.....

Not to mention that's not even an mmo, just essentially a Co op shooter, not even the same genre.

All this crying reminds of me of the destiny forums, "oh its dead" " I'll never come back! " yet those same people keep playing the game, and the game continues on like normal.

Even on ps4 every area I go to is heavily populated, even late at night at quite times I go to a dolmen and it's packed full of players, campaigns have 200-300 long ques for DC players, and towns are packed.

    Hardly dead...

I'm not even sure that forum is the preferred way for ZOS to receive feedback, I think they prefer the /feedback funtion ingame.

    RIP

    9 million people think so.

I can't speak for others but, I know I have been paying less due to being kind of sick of thingsl. I was hoping IC would be the saving grace, but the fact that it has no incentive for pvp in what was supposed to be a pvp DLC, on top of this, normal PVP was kind of wrecked as a result as well, it just kind of bummed me out and I am really lacking any motivation to play properly now.

Just like millions liked hardline? Or the 20 million that liked destiny? Yet those games lost about 80% of their entire playerbase in less than 3 months.

Not to mention that a large amount of those 9 million probably play shooters more than anything, not all gamers play every genre.

Please just stop, if you don't like ESO then just leave, send your stuff in the mail to someone and let us get on with it, I'll send you a postcard in 5 years when the game is still going :)
