Orsinium will be far more popular than IC, because it caters to the largest portion of the player base. And bear mounts.
It's possible that the PC player base doesn't return at the same rate as console. But having seen the mass exodus from destiny, only to be followed by resurgence when DLC drops, I'm willing to bet we see a spike in activity when Eso's DLC drops.
Wish there was a way to see data backing this claim of PvE players outnumbering PvP players. It is an ES game at the end of the day but it was built with a pretty damn good combat system. A lot of my friends who were in it for the PvP have logged on less and less. Some haven't returned at all.
It is kind of hard to go back to another game like WoW after being exposed to a game that has no cooldowns among other things.icontested wrote: »After playing and reading I think its clear we all love eso. I still have faith. I can also say ill be playing until the end. I will even treat halo 5 as my game on the side to eso. That's saying a lot
ESO was in a position to bring back players for a long time but new games come out. Not everyone is resilient like you. After playing with a number of builds on 3 characters, the lack of polish this game currently has is showing. There were a lot of things I had to figure out on my own which was pretty annoying.
With Battlefront coming out, it is a reminder of the DLC pay model. Im not crazy about buying a bunch of DLCs for a game I just won't have time for in ESO. In addition to Battlefront releasing, Blade and Soul is gathering quite a bit of traction and looks promising. Overwatch will be amazing as well.
Coming off of watching the latest episode of ESO live, the game's future just seems so much more uncertain. They still aren't addressing PvP content for small scale as a short term concern (immediate) nor consistently addressing the removal of Veteran Ranks and scaling up of Trials/old content. The game will likely end up similar to ArcheAge if it hasn't already. Lots of potential but too slow to act on it.
RIP
for pvp really all they have to do is fix issue and balance classes and they would have many player coming back to eso
COD kiddies ?! cmoon go bck to your hole. No one complain about big grp pvp... ppl complain about lag. "ESO's pvp was simply NOT DESIGNED FOR SMALL SCALE.ZOS is not addressing "pvp for small scale" because no matter how much you hem and haw and spam twitch chat, ESO's pvp was simply NOT DESIGNED FOR SMALL SCALE.
Period. Its a Keep Sieging, large-scale open field pvp game. It always has been.
It's not a Team Deathmatch or 1vs1 dueling game.
Until they decide to put team deathmatch in the game for the COD kiddies, you probably wont hear anything about "small scale pvp".
There are plenty of MMOs with lobby shooter team deathmatch(aka "Arena") out there and not very many large scale pvp MMOs to carry the DAoC torch.
Whats the obsession with turning something unique in the genre into a generic Lobby Shooter?

IC wasnt for everything just like Trials or Dungeons arent either and btw IC is already 1 month old so of course people start to get bored and stop playing.
IC killed pvp... Both the core game changes and the fact that that the DLC was marketed as a pvp expansion. Unhappy buyers that don't want to give Zos their business and buyers like myself that feel scammed that they bought into their false advertisement. IC was never a pvp dlc and Zos knows it

Guess you haven't really followed the Imperial City news since it was first shown to us quite a while ago.Lava_Croft wrote: »People left because the Imperial City was the last lie/false promise they were able to take after nearly 2 years of lies/false promises.
What was the lie? It was advertised for what it was and people where very enthusiastic around here, even though what was advertised was obviously going to be a steaming pile. On the the topic of IC I do not find any fault with ZOS's honesty.

Not actually an answer, and now I'm curious too. What was the lie?
.
orsinium is a great DLC, but I doubt it will be enough to hold everyone over til the next dlc.

Reminds me of trying to explain paper and pencil RPG gaming to someone who kept asking 'well, how do you win?"
You don't "win". You play, enjoy, survive .... you experience and enjoy the game/world.

Both the General Forum and the Live Servers lose players to the PTS Forum and Server when a major DLC is put up for testing.

but since Orsinium is mostly solo content without any major new mechanics being added, what would be the point of spending so much time on PTS on solo content if you're not going to be in the forums sharing your experience?

Battlefront? That amazing battlefield reskin? Yeah a skin is really worth £60.....
Not to mention that's not even an mmo, just essentially a Co op shooter, not even the same genre.
All this crying reminds of me of the destiny forums, "oh its dead" " I'll never come back! " yet those same people keep playing the game, and the game continues on like normal.
Even on ps4 every area I go to is heavily populated, even late at night at quite times I go to a dolmen and it's packed full of players, campaigns have 200-300 long ques for DC players, and towns are packed.
Hardly dead...
