If I play a game Like destiny then when I shoot an enemy\player - if I miss I miss, if i aimed correct then my shot lands a hit
If I play ...... Jeez... Skyrim for want of a better example then I score a hit with my weapon because it was within range and aimed correct to score such said hit.
I have just started noticing that ZOS's effort with this supposed next gen step means I can stand back a whole extra sword length pretty much and swing wildly at thin air between me and the enemy and it is still scoring hits!!!???
I am swinging into air and still damaging the enemy!!!!?????
I have to come the conclusion that this and coupled with the easy 3rd person view is nothing more than a game for kiddies and wimps who just want things easy and laid out for them to easily be on scoreboards in PvP, and for ZOS to make a quick buck
This is not the ES that I grew up with
I thought at first as a new player this was good, but more and more I am noticing the cruddy aspects like this and realising the obvious
I want to play a third person RPG - well I have the Witcher3 which has better feel to the game and battle feels like something to challenge with less click click to hack n slash cast magic and rinse and repeat
I have Destiny which is although not a true MMO is still a community game and if I fire a bullet which tickles the hairs on someone else's ear it doesn't count for a hit
And far as MMO goes then there is always Battlefront coming out
Don't get me wrong before you all burn me I have played this and may revisit, but as it stands ZOS took something and created a shell of Skyrim\Morrowind online and have yet to really make a good thing of it because it is the little things like this area of weapon contact as an example, that so far are seriously letting it down

Sorry everyone but you all know I speak the truth but try playing some of the other games out there - in particular what I have mentioned and then go back to this stinker and you will see what I mean
[Holding nose, doing a thumbs down and blowing a raspberry after a very garlic based dish coz it stinks as bad as my breath right now]
...... yet I can brush my teeth and swill with some mouthwash and be all fresh - ZOS can't
