IC wasnt for everything just like Trials or Dungeons arent either and btw IC is already 1 month old so of course people start to get bored and stop playing it, Ive felt it too myself but I just want to push to the 501 before Orsinium. IC was great addition to the game, nevertheless.

IC has been nothing but a boring grind of killing the same mobs over and over. The only ones who go in there are players trying to level or players trying to make coin. They have absolutely no desire to pvp, just pve. And then you have a few pvp'rs who know this but think it's fun to gank them. All is fair in a "pvp" zone, right?

Unfortunately, pve'rs leave when the pvp'rs come. And then the pvp'rs complain there is no one there. It just doesn't mesh.

There are a lot of people who ARE hyped for the new DLC. New content always brings people back, even if it's just for curiosity. This is especially true on console. I know the que for IC was 400 deep on launch. That kind of suggests that a lot of players wanted to check out new content. Orsinium will be far more popular than IC, because it caters to the largest portion of the player base. And bear mounts.

It's possible that the PC player base doesn't return at the same rate as console. But having seen the mass exodus from destiny, only to be followed by resurgence when DLC drops, I'm willing to bet we see a spike in activity when Eso's DLC drops.

Yes but you are not taking into account two things.
    1. PvP players may not be and probably aren't the majority in this game.
    2. Only a small percentage of a games player base use the forums. Even less post on them.

It doesn't differentiate, however, between those players who have quit ESO and those who have switched from Steam to console or from Steam back to the native PC installation. In any event, the proportion of players using Steam has only ever been so small as to be statistically of no real relevance. The Steam figures aren't made any more reliable just because there aren't any other official figures.

PvPers have been complaining ever since PC launch, mostly about lag and balancing issues, but also for a while about the lack of new content, and then when the new content came along they complained about how they didn't like it. They told PvEers not to criticise the IC DLC because it was for them and the PvE DLC would come next, and now they're complaining they don't like Orsinium because there's no PvP. Put simply, PvPers are never satisfied - which is understandable given that by the very nature of PvP most of them die a lot and want something to blame it on other than their lack of skill relative to others. 'Twas ever thus...

This and that I like to pvp mostly the grind that it takes to get the v16 matz are just horrible. Dont get me wrong I dont mind some grinding but when it takes that long to get the mats to make my v16 gear to go back to pvp I just stop losing interest.

And when Orsinium comes I'll have to do it again. The thought of that kinda pisses me off.

I haven't played eso in over 2 months or so last time I logged on ps4 version was to get my character to vr 16 then I logged back out I refuse to play this game as much as I use to 11 hours a day until a better communication system is implemented into the game for console players like text chat for example it's probably why people are not playing as much or at all this is a game breaking problem for eso on console if it is not corrected soon eso will be extremely dead on console I play dcuo right now at least you have better means of communication on there cause they have text chat for the console version of there game unlike eso does

You are right OP. IC wasn't the DLC that we needed, but it was the one we deserved for allowing ourselves to be harangued for so long.

After playing and reading I think its clear we all love eso. It also seems that eso is in a position where it could easily bring people back which is a statement other games cannot make. I think if you are eso its a good position. If you are a player its a good position. Good needs to become great now.

I still have faith. I can also say ill be playing until the end. I will even treat halo 5 as my game on the side to eso. That's saying a lot

No data, but when the game went belatedly onto Steam there was general disinterest here because of the lack of a Steam key for existing accounts. You had to buy a new copy of the game effectively, and few players wanted to do that.

Now consider that some issues have been around for over a year without being fixed and recent updates have made some non-issues into problems and despite getting new content for the first time in forever, the game is in a worse state than it was previously and yeah, it doesn't take much to make a gamer give up.
