Just picked up with thieving, wanted to know what good spots are.
Best ive found so far is Stormhaven (veteran zone dont know if its same for normal) leading with 13 lockboxes.
Any other places that have this or more around?

Depends what you want. If you want purple motifs, you have to do vet areas. If you want gold and rank it up (stealth passive is awesome), you can do anything. I have most experience with Rawlh'ka since I pretty much maxed that skilline there. My rotation is this:

    1) Check the safebox near the tailor in the middle of the town.
    2) Check the safebox in the house next to woodwork station.
    3) Optional step: go to Mages Guild (big stone building) and loot everything.
    4) Go to inn. There is safebox behind the bar, but that is not mandatory, Most likely means bounty on you.
    5) Go upstairs, loot everything and pickpocket two NPCs
    6) Jump from the window, land behind the inn, run around and check safebox in Fighter's Guild spot. You don't even have to sneak for this one.
    7) Run to the house that is in front of the bank building. A guard often walks the path you will be crossing.
    8) Locpkick the house, there is safebox inside, two NPCs to pickpocket and some boxes to loot.
    9) Go outside and under the house is Refuge entrance.
    10) Repeat.

If somebody knows something I missed, let me know.

In DC if you wander in houses in daggerfall and sentinal you get really good loot. In sentinal there are 5 safeboxes and 1 chest to cycle through as well as many containers.

I tend to look for safeboxes, always greens and lots of blues with cash, so fastest way to get rich, i tend to leave whites behind, only 30 gold ... yes im a greedy bastert so what  ...
And know of rawlkha, is on thieving spree route hihi.
Was looking for more places like stormhaven, 13 possible lockboxes is just ... $.$ >drool<

So far i have stormhaven, malabal tor, reapers march, but it still requires 2 or 3 cycles to get max sold (only greens and blues)
And i dont bother with places that only has one lockbox.

Please don't leave things behind. The chests/safeboxes then sit there, so the next person has no option to pick it and instead gets stuck with whatever you left behind, plus the irritation of not getting to pick the lock for the Legerdemain experience.

The same goes for anything, really - if you harvest a resource node, take everything (yes, including the worms and crawlers). If you are fishing, fish until the hole despawns.

This ensures that the safebox/chest/node/fishing hole will quickly respawn.

I recommend to start you just loot barrels and bags, and crack chests while adventuring. Once you get up to about 6 in Legerdemain (which comes really fast if you're dropping in passives) you can more comfortably start pickpocketing. Dabble in chest breaking, and door breaking til it becomes easy. Wear Medium armor, be a vampire, wear night silence, be a bosmer/khajiit. All those things help. Always have a route in mind. Plan your escapes and paths. Think about how you can line of sight away from the guards so you can escape if you are caught. These basic skills can apply to any town. I have my favorite towns, but there are a lot of good ones.

you can improve howmuch you can sell in legerdemain but base is 50 items

    white stuff sells for 30
    green 100
    blue 250
could be purples too but havent seen any so far

that is the stolen type of items, so no recipes or equipables and such, sells for its normal value. if you only loot lockboxes, quite alot.
so if you only sell blues each day 12500, + gold dropped in lockboxes

I have made over 100,000 in a day doing this (though its been some time since I played Legerdemain that hard). Bear in mind I ran multiple characters to do this. If you take longer, you can be picky about the color of the loot you find. For instance if you don't want to sell white loot, you can just ditch it and go for green. If you're really picky you can just pick up blue+. The problem with only looting blue+ (and I'd recommend motifs, some green recipes etc) is that it will take you longer to acquire those. The method behind doing that involves pickpocketing, and going into buildings to loot people's chests. I have found purple recipes in cupboards and barrels though, so don't necessarily discount those. It never hurts to look.

Once your pickpocket skills are high enough, it is an awesome way to level legerdemain fast. One dirty trick I used was to pickpocket people, and when my bounty ran up too high, I'd logoff and start working legerdemain on another character. The other character would build up a bounty and then I'd flip back to the original (or another one) and continue where I left off. Hard marks give you more Legerdemain exp for every success you have, but they also are more likely to catch you and attack you. This is where knowing how to run away helps, along with being aware of the guard patrols.

You can launder the recipes (yes it costs you) but if you have an addon which helps you be aware of going rates for a recipe, you can often find a way to quickly resell on a merchant guild for a significant amount more. If its a recipe you need to learn that's an option as well (don't launder it if the character that did the stealing needs it, you can learn a recipe/motif if it is stolen). I'm pretty sure that Purple items will sell for 750, I can't remember for sure. I'll be honest when I'm thieving I don't pay attention to that. I'm like a vacuum cleaner and generally I'll pick up anything that's green or better. That's the advantage of having more than one alt to steal with. There's no time wasted, and you can take advantage of some of those lower quality sales. Its an economy of motion thing.

Laundering brings up a good point. When you're first starting out, I recommend you launder the provisioning materials. Its cheap, and it will help you get your legerdemain up fairly quickly on the first day. I generally did most of my thieving first, and laundering toward the end, particularly since provisioning materials will stack.

The best containers to loot are dressers, wardrobes, trunks, backpacks, stuff like that. Sacks and baskets and the like tend to carry Provisioning Ingredients and reduce your chances of getting the goods, but still have them at times. My advice is find a place without guard presence that has a lot of containers, such as Rawl'kha Tavern. Places like those are easy pickings!

Sounds like my 'rounds' when Im in Rawlh'ka but I didnt see mention of the bank safebox? I believe that Rawlh'ka is probably one of, if the not the easiest bank, ones to do. I usually check that one first..
