Weapon Damage Soft/Hard Cap?

Hey everyone, had a quick question about weapon damage soft/hard caps, can anyone tell me if they still exist in the game? I'll give a pretty simple scenario for the reason I ask. I recently upgraded my boots from v14 gold to vr16 gold (hundings rage + mundus buff trait boots), my weapon damage was 3216 with vr14 gold boots, and when equipping the new boots it remained at 3216. The vr14 gold Hundings Rage weapon damage bonus is 286, the vr16 gold Hundings Rage weapon damage bonus is 299. Basically, I'm wondering why my weapon damage remained at 3216, rather than increasing by 13 points to 3229?

This makes me worry that there's some kind of soft or hard damage cap in place that I'm not aware of (my googling tells me patch 1.6 removed this, but I'm not sure). Can anyone tell me if there are caps in place, or if this is a potential bug? I don't want to continue min/maxing in the blind if there are caps I'm unaware of. High level tweaking is very expensive and even though 13 points isn't much, it's rather irritating to upgrade my equipment and have this happen.

I think that Hunding rage WD bonus is the same for VR14 and VR16. That is why is the same.

    Because I can!

It's listed as a 286 bonus in game on the VR14 gold boots, and listed as a 299 bonus in game on the VR16 gold boots, the listed stats are different, so it doesn't make sense that weapon damage wouldn't be increased. Actually I just realized I don't have all 5 Hunding's pieces at VR16 yet, could that be the reason it hasn't bumped from the 286 bonus? I have a mixture of VR14, 15, and 16 in my Hunding's pieces.

Actually I figured it out, the difference was going from purple/gold differences. I have a piece of purple Hunding's in my 5, and that's keeping it at 286 rather than 299. When I unequip a gold piece it says 299, but when I equip it, it says 286 due to there being a purp in the 5. Problem solved!
