Streak gripes

In 1.6 i could use streak and get out of range of gap closers, or cast streak faster than the gap closers were able to cast there gap closing abilities(im not sure which one but basically gap closers didn't work againt multiple streak casts).However in 1.7 i can no longer streak away without every cast being followed by a gap closer. This coupled with streaks cost increase has rendered streak(morph of bolt escape, bolt ESCAPE)a bad skill. You can't escape with it, the stun is so short that on console by the time ive turned around the enemy can be free of the stun and dodging my next attack and for the icing on the cake the damage isn't that great. Now i know sorcs aren't in a bad position in pvp im just upset that what was once a very enjoyable ability is not so fun anymore.

On my sorc I streak through the opponent then drop mines. His gap closer will put him right inside my mine for a sexy boom. At that point my shards have likely procced so Kapow him in the face with that and throw all dots onto the opponent. Weeeeee~

Also on a more serious note I don't think zeni wants sorcs, Templars and dks to be able to easily move in and out of combat. It seems nbs should be the only class capable of doing this. On my sorc I streak then Pop a speed/immovable pot to run. On my dk I swap to bow dodge roll and then Pop invis/immovable to get out of combat. To reiterate I use streak to just buy myself a few seconds and drop mines to help me just catch a breath from infinite jab/wb/SA spam.

This is why bolt escape and morphs should not have the cost stack. The only thing that would make sense for a nerf is if the little ball thing only sucked in 4 projectiles and each ball disappeared when the next came(maybe it's all ready like that idk). This has counters just like cloak yet cloaks biggest argument for no nerf is that it has counters. That don't make no sence. Like at all.

I think, streak shouldn't trigger additonal cost, as long as it deals damage.
Using it offensively should be rewarded in my opinion.

I can see why they nerfed its escape mechanic. But it was a bit overnerfed/uncreative nerf

The transition between 1.6 to 2.0 regarding Streak and Ball of Lightning hasn't really greatly affected my builds tbh. The matter is utilizing your abilities to the fullest and noticed someone mentioned above about mines, Streak - Mines always helps prevent gap closers. Not saying I'm immortal or anything but it hasn't been a huge difference like everyone makes it out to believe. So what we can spam the skill 10+ times like before. I never really used it that way to begin with so maybe that is why I haven't experienced the same issues.

I really only use it offensively when I'm in finisher mode, facing several enemies, or against a NB (really is the best move available against cloak)

I have noticed that OP. I'll streak 3 times or so and just to check... Bam! They are still right on top of me. It surprises me greatly

-Makes a swish with his hand over his head- That being said. Its a draw. You spend magicka to move ahead and they spend alot more in stamina etc to break stun and reuse closer. Your problem with not escaping? you turned around..... If your plan was to move away and keep fighting then you arnt really escaping now are you. Thus ability works as intended... You either escape. Or you move around an enemy. Gap closer Not an escape -=//=- Bolt can do both. Thus the nerf. Like I said. Simple heh.

Ah yes but your main problem is streaks only counter..... That should not be a problem for you as most if not all escape abilities need atleast 1 counter. Gap closing being this counter. There is no need to fix or buff or nerf this situation simply because they spend more Time, Skill and Cost getting back to you then streak costs etc.

It would be no different then if someone else had streak and was keeping up with you with it. Gap closers work the same in that regard except they dont get to choose their direction which gives you more power of them. For example you could streak at a friendly PC/NPC which puts them at a disadvantage.

I agree with what you said about choosing direction but they can keep gap closing with no cost increase so ultimately I will run out of resource's and not escape. They need to change the name to bolt, instead of bolt 'escape'.
