They need to rebalance the racial passives and make the worse ones better to stop people having to play certain races just to compete.

This right here. I think having racial passives in this game is what makes it unique compared to other MMO's. It adds another layer to the dynamic combat system. I disagree with getting rid of racial passives. This is an Elder scrolls game after all. If you don't feel as "1337" because you didn't choose the "right" race based on what everyone else chose, well you do have 6 other slots to create a character.

In short, keep racial passives, just buff the other lackluster ones *cough argonian cough*

Sadly, I think that ZOS does think Argonians are balanced. That's what's always bothered me, it doesn't seem like they know their own game, or blatantly ignore the issue. They seem oblivious to these imbalance issues. They just see some numbers and think that's balance, but they don't consider how the passives work. For instance, max stats increase not only your stat pool, but also your max damage. Therefore, sure, Argonians get an increase to healing received, but so do races with a max magicka increase because their healing spells are stronger based on how spell strength is calculated (spell power + max magicka, same for stamina abilities). These are the things ZOS doesn't get or are very slow to understand. It's not just numbers. It's how those passives contribute to the totality of the character. It's how the passives operate in conjunction with the rest of the game mechanics.

This is why people keep complaining about the Argonians. They have a passive linked to a consumable with a cool down (no max stat increase, but simply a restoration), another which I just described previously, and lastly the health boost and poison/disease resistance, (which is less than the Bosmer resistance???!!) probably the best thing they've got going for them (still way less than what other races get).

There are lots of top players that play a build that directly contradicts their racial passive bonuses and they still outperform 99,9% of the population.

I'm not an expert on gameplay. I mean... I'm not Deltia so it's not like I've played every race, examined all the abilities, etc..

However, in my opinion, tweeting abilities, build, food, potions, etc. will easily work around passive imbalance. For instance, I played a dunmer nightblade for a long time. Got her all the way to V12 before taking a break and starting a Templar. Why dunmer? Shouldn't I have done Kajiit or Imperial? Well, I chose Dunmer, because I WANTED TO. All I had to do was tweek things to help resource management.. and boom.. everything worked out.

She might not be the BEST nightblade or the highest dps nightblade... but she was able to do the questlines, group up effectively in Crag, and do trials. So... yup. tweek it. play the way you want to.

Racial passives arnt THAT important. Choose the race you want to play.

If you feel the need to play a race you don't like because of racials, then that's just sad.
