I take back every bad thing I've said about Master Gatherer passive

Huge quality of life improvement, even if it doesn't affect the total time you're out farming much. Gathering already took very little time in this game compared to some others, but it still always felt like a huge delay between one activity and the next. Now I've barely pressed the gather button before I'm ready to move on to the next node. Way less boring. Highly recommended. Definitely better than the Treasure Hunter passive I'd invested in before. I'm not even sure what that one actually does.

Anyone else feeling differently about certain Champion Point passives?

Master Gatherer is awesome. Too bad its at L75 in a tree that does not benefit most of my characters. However my low level Mules all have this. Turn on Auto Loot and use Master Gatherer and you barely have to break stride to harvest nodes.

Yeah, it's very nice. Most people probably have it anyway just because they want points in stam regen, but I stupidly was putting points into Break Free cost reduction instead so I could get Treasure Hunter... which I am completely unconvinced actually does anything desirable. Since switching, I've noticed a huge change in gathering materials, crafting surveys, that sort of thing, but absolutely no discernible change in chests/lockboxes. Sad face.

The one thing Treasure Hunter seems to be good for is opening treasure vaults in Imperial City. What I do is respec my VR16 Nightblade for Treasure Hunter, collect my trophies, head to the three or four vaults, then respec back. I've scored a Ring of Agility, a sharpened Mace of Agility, and some Xivkyn recipes in the last 4 chests I opened this way. I'll gladly fork over 6K for that kind of haul. ;D

This is actually what made me finally decide to spec out of it, I've had it for every vault I've opened and the vast majority of the time it's like "Ice Staff of Agiliy * 12" and maybe a Xivkyn motif. I can't pool enough data together to see if it actually does anything. My experience with the perk is completely indiscernible from the experience without the perk, so I'm using the perk that actually has an observable effect on my gameplay.

It does feel nice when you have it, even if realistically it only makes a difference of a few minutes every hour of dedicated node farming.

i also gave the treasure hunter perk a run through for the first two or so weeks of IC, still dont know what the heck that thing is supposed to do.

And OP thanks for the thread on this. I also considered that a worthless passive. But I'll respec my Craglorn farmer to use it. You get an awesome for that.

I don't have enough points yet, but a few of my alts should be close (have the 50 point passives already). My healer is one of them and so preferred magic regen anyway. The others that have points in this are doing it for the passives in the tree, though ability cost reduction will get some love somewhere along the way.

I´m gonna miss this passive!!
I have a 100 points in Cost Reduction and Recovery atm.
With the nerf / CP cap, I wont give up on the 100 points into Cost Reduction and will lose this one.

And I was wondering the same thing. I've seen this in the lover constellation. The description states: "It reduces gathering time by 50%." But how?

And I was wondering the same thing. I've seen this in the lover constellation. The description states: "It reduces gathering time by 50%." But how?

The cast time for any gathering activity is just cut in half. Instead of swinging your axe twice, you swing it once, that sort of thing.

I should get around to using my Champion points. I think the whole system is *** though so I don't use them. Don't really care if I'm gimping myself or not. It's not like I have anyone else to run content with anyways.
