Console to PC

I have the game on Ps4 and PC but was thinking of moving on to PC since my friends stopped playing it, is their a lot more people on PC or is it about even? Not really bothered about the rest just like seeing a populated world!

PC population seems OK. Recently levelled an alt to vet ranks and saw plenty of people. Vet zones thin out a bit and levelling in those areas can get a bit lonely. PvP population is good though, plenty of regulars and newbs (thanks to new battle levelling).

I wished there was the option to move my characters to pc from ps4 i would just because of the option for text chat

Yeah think the text thing is the main thing pulling towards eso for pc, kinda boring after a while not talking to people.... and most people playing random music through headsets o.o

I've already rage quit PS4 version.... if there was an option to trasnfer to PC however.... i would likely be playing and paying full time... and since Pc, means ZoS get all the money, as opposed to console taking a cut each time. They should want to help people trasnfer to PC as well.

Also, if they were silly enough to let PC transfer fully to consoles at launch to begin with, then they should be okay with the revserse and it would be less damaging. So many people just hoarded junk and sold at high prices on consoles as a result

Also, you do realize that the number of players who were eligible to transfer from PC to console was an extremely small number as there was a very small window in which to meet the criteria to be able to transfer. So don't make it sound like ALL PC players were given this option, it was, in fact, only those who had bought the PC version between launch and a the original scheduled date for console release... so we're talking April 2014 to June 2014.

Think I'd go back to pc if I could get my characters copied over, mainly because of the lack of text chat on console, I've never felt so isolated online.

And please don't spout nonsense about voice chat, mostly its full trolls, overloud mic's, wannabe dj's, mouthbreathers and crying babies. It sucks balls bigtime even when it does work properly though quite often it doesn't work at all.

It does indeed, finally joined what I thought would be an alright guild, pain in the ass trying to communicate with guild members and when you do it barely even works

For all of you QQing about text chat...

Get a mic, join a guild, and learn to communicate using your voice to other humans.

I think the barring issue is that they can only duplicate characters onto a clean server. That's why the PC to console transfer was a one-time thing at a specific time. They basically made a partial backup file and dumped it on the console server before there was any new user data on it.

You can find a great deal on retail PC every few months. But because of how our data are programmed, you're not going to see server migration unless they wipe the servers first. They can do that on PTS because it's temporary but it's just too risky to gamble all that data on Live for comparatively few people.

Yeah we tried that, it's a ball ache to do that all the time since the main way to communicate with a guild is guild message of the day o.o and god forbid we get a cold one day and don't feel up for the mic damn o.O

    My experience of voice chat

Join area chat 1 with 15 people in it, hear someone blaring music, a crying baby or someone screaming at the top of their voice.

Join guild chat 1 , of several 500 member guilds I am in.

I'm the only user there, can't ask for raid/dungeon groups.

Rage and just give up, go play cyrodil and listen to some random eastern European guy shouting out "XYCHDYXH IS UNDER ATTACK" constantly...

I then completely give up, take off the headset and play solo...

Yeah without my friends playing much it's pretty much just feels like a single player game, and my god try asking for a random group in Cyrodill it's hard as hell to follow someone until they invite you

Says the guy using text to communicate in this thread.

If you're so against using text why are you even on the forums posting?

Definately would like option to transfer character to PC.

And this is helpful for a person whom is deaf, hard of hearing, mute, socially anxious etc etc how exactly?

I would love to transfer to pc, I actually just bought a copy and will ever so slowly start to level up whilst trying to play ps4 at the same time. Gotta get past that 32gb update with a 3mb/s connection first.

What I find absolutely bizarre though, that a new generation game in ESO, would fail to see how the world is becoming all about VOICELESS communication. People don't even use their phones to talk VOICE anymore, instead they use TEXT, everything is TEXT and e-mails today. So why in the world would do game developers suddenly expect that people are going to want to talk voice simply because its a game versus real-world communication? People want to use what they've grown accustomed to using in real-life, and that is voiceless communication.

You do realise, you're correcting me on something i NEVER once said? So way to put words in my mouth. Unless you can point out where i ever said "All of PC transferred to console" don't put words in other peoples mouths for you to then argue your own made up points.

You never win an argument if you have to argue what you made up.

My point was simply, it was silly to even let a single transfer from PC to console happen in the first place, and if they could do that, then there is no reason not to allow transfers in the opposite direction.
