Orsinium and levels

Might have missed this but how does the new DLC scale? Can we try it at any level then again at another? Just asking because have had some games that fix at your first level attempt...

...hhmm...reminds me of a certain prismatic staff, lol.

Tks.

Hopefully someone who has actually tried it out on PTS can confirm, but from my understanding the way it scales is similar to Cyrodiil battle leveling, so it scales you to the content rather than vice versa. That was my understanding, anyway, I could be wrong.

I thought it would play like the main game.I mean,we start at first level and go up from there.Personally,I dont really care for being leveled up to fit a zone.Cant they just make it a plain old extension?

Nope. Not what they want to do. They have tried it, people didn't like it too much because they couldn't do it for so long (craglorn)

Basically you get this little UI fix that says you're scaled to VR15. I assume stats are increased evenly as if you were 21/21/21 and your damage mitigation ect increased. Mobs seem to die at roughly the same speed regardless of level (Tried on a level 9, 35 and VR14).
Desperate for Roleplaying servers to bring open world non-organised RP to Elder Scrolls Online. Please ZOS.

Yep, that's it. The mobs are VR16 and you're scaled up to something equivalent-ish to a VR15. Your stats and skills are scaled up depending on how you have allocated them, rather than having a blanket scale to a fixed value. Details here:
    Battle Leveling Updates
Instead of every battle leveled character having the exact same stats, you will now be able to mold a battle leveled character however you choose.
    • Battle leveling now takes into account how you have allocated your attribute points.
    • Items matter!
      • Having stronger items means your battle leveled stats will be stronger. For example, equipping a purple level 34 sword will give more damage than a green level 34 sword.
      • Lower-level player characters will be given bonus stats to help make up for the lack of optimized gear, skills, and passive abilities. The bonus will scale to your level, so lower-level player characters will receive a larger bonus.

Thanks. So I guess that means we can replay as we progress. Which is good.

How do XP gain work there though, is it scaled after your real level?

But the drops? Are they like in IC, scaled to your original level, or do you get vr15-16 drops even though you're level 13?

One thing I've been wondering about is how being able to jump out of the standard zones into Orsinium affects your levelling progress. Are you going to come back to your previous zone with outleveled quests?

I guess this would hurt new characters more than higher levels?

@Grisemn Yes, XP gain is primarily based on your true level. Quest XP is exactly based on your true level, so completing a quest at Level 20 will give you Level 20 XP. There might be a slight boost for mob-killing XP; for example, if you're Level 20, you may be given, say, Level 25 XP for killing mobs (need to confirm whether that's the case).

@kyrowski Unfortunately, yes. If you level up a few levels in Wrothgar you will be overlevelled for the content that you are going back to. This means that you won't get XP or drops from mobs. You'll still get XP from quests and POIs though.

Possibly if you are level 1-49, but not if you are vet 1-16. Best to do Orsinium as part of Cadwells Silver/Gold where the impact will be minimal.

This could easilly be solved by having an XP limiter/disabler item in the crown store.. As long as it is equipped, you only receive half the xp - or no xp at all. Other games do this... (e.g. LoTRO)
