Consider making the cap 585?

I realize the current cap proposed is divisible by 3 and what the devs feel is a fair amount, but I propose starting at 585. This number would put the cap at breakpoints for the passives in our trees and not somewhere in the middle. with 585, I can complete the 120 passive in a tree and the 75 in another. A 501 cap, puts us at some strange point in the middle. It would be nice if future cap lifts would take this into factor as well. Just my opinion.

It's not a gamebreaking thing for me, but it would be nice to keep those passives when they're so close to the cap.

there is no reason for the cap to become that high. 90% of us only have 200 or 300 champion points and we will never catch up to you.
if anything, the cap should be 300!

I agree. The cap should be 250cp at max. Also they should remove pvp from cyrodiil quest hubs, remove guards and while they´re at it make the new solo arena completeable with only using heavy and light attacks.

Since the avarege Player have 93 (official zos info) 501 is allready to high.

so why dont decrees the cap to 360? so we just can complet one 120 perk?

So 90% of the game is in 200-300 CP range? What about the games average being 90 CPs on PC per that thread a couple weeks back? I personally will be above cap in the next few days but I can totally support the reasoning and logic behind what he/she is saying. I'd even say go with 600 for the cap every season since it makes it easier and ZOS would only have to raise the cap 6 times in order to max out.

Probably too many people above 360.

Cap doesnt really matter. 300, 500, 600 meh. With the cost curve most (or at least a lot) of people will be close together in cp. And after the next update even closer.

I am surprised they didnt cap it at a passive point though.

If you played 7h per week and didn't grind you have about 300cp atm, so having a cap around 500-600cp is totally fine.
In my opinion it would make sense to put the cap at 585cp for reasons mentioned in the op.

I'm not interested in "fair" or "reasonable" (so good luck debating me :P ), I'm interested in making CPs involve a choice for your build, and for me 360 is the sweet spot as it lets you unlock one top tier passive in each "color".
I might be wrong (and I probably am), I just think CPs water themselves down when you can eventually pick everything.
    But I dont know man...

Wow you have over 500 CP already when most people meaning well over 90% - 95% barely have half that...I got a better idea why don't you get off your PC and do something else with your life for a change, sitting on your PC grinding a game all day can be hazardous to your health.

I know players that have never grinder and have over 600 CP, playing 15 hrs a week. Just because you are taking your sweet time at earning CP (which by the way I'm not judging you on), doesn't mean others should. The real problem is the fact that only killing monsters earns you xp...Xp should be given for all in game activities - quest achievements, harvesting, fishing, crafting, etc....this way the playstyles to earn xp would be much more diverse. And overall low CP + Skill will always trump High CP and no skill...

I vote for no cap. Leave it at 3600.

I will have 300 CPs soon and have fun with both PvE & PvP.

It's taken me since the CP System started to get this many. I just play the game and let the CPs happen.
FYI - There is no such thing as 'night capping' in a world wide MMO.
FYI - There was no paid Beta. When they launched the game the Beta was over, even if you don't think it was.
    FYI - It's B2P not F2P. There is a difference.
FYI - It doesn't take any player skill to mash keys or buttons in this game. The ones that stay alive longer have the better internet connection and speed.
FYI - The game is not broken, it still works. It just has 'bugs' that need to be fixed.
    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

Example: There were hundreds of Jedi and only two Sith in Star Wars. The Jedi wanted, "Balance in the Force" and they got it. Now there are only two Jedi and two Sith.

I agree, I bet a lot of the CP whiners are players that spend hours fishing.... making no xp whatsoever... so we pay for their lack of understanding. I dont grind or play 50 hours a week and I have over 400 CP. I also dont waste my valuable play time chating in guild chat about my dog that went to the vet today, or looking at the pretty scenery in the game, or like I stated above - spending hours upon hours fishing and making no xp whatsoever...

I'd like to see the actual numbers behind their statistics. Are they only considering active players with their numbers? I know three people that quit playing never having earned any cp so if they are counting all of the inactive players than of course the average CP will be really low.

I've never farmed cp and have 95 points. I like earning cp though and don't want a cap at all. I also don't use other people's cp level as an excuse to whine for why I'm not good enough to compete.

So you are the reason the cap is so low!

It would take a lot of multiple accounts to skew the results by that much.

They may not have counted it anyway. Were your alt accounts vet ranked?

They never go into details, but it would be reasonable to only count accounts that were logged in for at least 30 hrs over the month.

I would love to see a graph though. Just to see the distribution. It seems there are a lot of people in the 200-300 range at the time they put out those numbers.

Doesnt take much to get to 300. Start with 70 and at my casual pace of fishing / writs/ random chasing of butterflies I get about 1.5 cp a day.

I actually get like nothing for a few days then play and get 6ish. Love the banked enlightenment!

I'd argue for 561. Just because, however you want to see it, either the DLC came a month sooner, or the next game pack will be a month longer coming. An extra 60 would account for those ~30 days.

That's what I was wondering how they collected their data. Because of its just by logging in within 30 days it's probably very inaccurate. Only my main account has vet ranked characters.

So very far from accurate. I play for about seven hours a day every day in PVP and I have not reached the 220 mark. Mind you, there are no xp for riding across the map which is over half the PVP time.

Their sampling method was beyond atrocious. And yes. I'm part of the problem too. I have an alternate account that has 35cp which were all gifted for the one vet toon at the launch of the champion system. I do log in at least every other day, but it's really only to bounce mails and list stuff on traders. There's an account with 35 CP that should absolutely be out of the sample.

If you had a vr14 when the system was introduced and merely used your enlightenment, then you should be at 300cp. If you have less than that, then you either started late, took a break, play less, or play with terrible efficiency. Even on nights where all I did was PvP, I could at the very least burn through my enlightenment.
