Bug (?): Jesus Beam is now dodgable

This was not documented in the patch notes. Was it an unintended consequence of trying to fix the whole LOS issue that had this skill going through walls?

Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

    I quit using radiant for the most part because of this crap. DPS loss in PvE and just straight avoidable in PvP...

    No.... this indeed no bug. ALL channels are now dodgeable. Radiant destruction, heavy lightning and resto attacks.... it's ridiculous. The channel still hits them even when they dodge, but now roll dodging enemies take 0 damage while doing so.

    I was so sad when I realized this. There is no reason to make this change.
    And right, just like channels are now blockable (yes, they are blockable AND dodgeable now in addition to being purgeable), it was not mentioned in the patchnotes and this already happened with the Imperial City update though. I still hope this is nothing but a heavy bug. I doubt it though, this needs to get reverted.

    Yeah it's pretty terrible I can now dodge the highest damaging execute every time in my death recap :/ Ah well, I'll just have to learn to adapt to staying alive longer.

    Yep this is ridiculous. The damage is pretty weak atm, especially against a blocking target. It should not be dodgeable.
    I made a video about a month ago too. I uploaded it on the forums, no word from ZoS unfortunately. I'd really like to know if it's intended or not.

    Ok, hold on buster. I use to laugh off the laser beam. On my mage alts I'd just keep popping my shield and LoS'ing them so they couldn't keep firing it. On my stamina alts I'd just block+heal+potion/etc. It was EASY to avoid but yes hard hitting. Honestly though because its a huge beam of light its impossible to miss like many other more insidious powers. Before you say I'm whining about the power, I'm not. I'd be much happier having my blinding flashes back. I just find it ridiculous to complain about this power. Your complaint is with executes not the beam. Even I realize that this power was a good addition for the Magic DPS Templar crowd (of which I'm not really a member). I've only played my Templar as a Tank (mag or stam) and as a Stamina DPS. I might one day respec for magic dps and don my jedi robes, but it just never excited me. My only complaint with the laser beam is that it did nothing for StamPlars. To reiterate, I want my blinding flashes back! :P Then I don't have to hear people hem and haw about the laserbeam and I can have my old build back.

    Its essentially a DoT that I am locked into for 3 seconds that does terrible dps unless you are in the execute zone.

    Not sure if it should be blockable since its a dot. If it had an initial impact, then sure block the instant part.

    Dodgeable makes sense-ish. Throw off the attachment. Especially in the first second.

    Purge / LOS / range oh heck yeah. Those are the ideal counters that make the most sense.

    Dodgeable does not make sense-ish because channeled spells were the natural counter to dodging and as you point out, there are other counters available (aside from those you did not point out such as bashing and interrupting). Dodge avoid projectiles and melee attacks, something has got to be able to hit them aside from AoEs. Channeled spells had their inbuilt disadvantage of being interruptible and the limitations to movement and defense (i.e. you can't block cast).

    Nobody complains about the skill anymore because it is now trash.

    not really that big of a Nerf those 3 dodge rolls in a row is going to eat up some serious stamina.

    About time. Ever since i realized that my ultimate was interruptable all i've been asking for is to make each and every skill interruptable/dodgeable/blockable.

    Once everything is nerfed into the ground, real player skill will actually make a difference and PvP will be fun again.

    I play a templar as my only character. Anything that nerfs jesus beam, preferably all the way to the ground, I'm happy with. It's stupid skill and I'd much rather have something else to replace it.
