Templar and Resto staff

I am just wondering, I have seen many templar healers run dual wield for spell power I guess. I figure since resto has some nice dot heals it would be helpful, but I rarely see that. Should a tempar healer be using a resto staff? I am working on one right now. Thoughts??

If you're going full healer then yea Resto should be on one of your bars. "Dat combat prayer tho".

Yeah my main is completely heals, an argonian templar. Restore staff is all I use. He can heal all day. And do great damage.
    I recommend it! :)

Depends for what. In PvE you should definitely use Resto Staff for heal. In PvP (small group) I prefer using Sword and Shield for heal and Dual for dmg.

If you're a templar and use Resto heal hots it's really uneffective. Why do you need it if you have the best class burst heal skills? As a templar I use in pvp S&B on my defensive skillbar and DW on the offensive one.

Im using a resto staff on my off bar because of syphon spirit magicka management, combat prayer 8% dmg buff and magicka return on heavy attacks but hots are more or less useless this patch

I use resto staff and 1h and shield on my templar for healing. Templars do get allot of class heals, but some of the resto staff skills are very useful and give you even more options to help your group

I tried running DW and resto for grouped PVE on my templar healer and found it worked out great, my BoL hit a little harder which is nice but in the end I found that I preferred running double resto for the passives.

Specifically Circle of Life and Restoration Master.

So if you are running a PVE group I would recommend dual resto and weaving in heavy attacks for the free magicka from Cirlce of Life and you can't go wrong with additional healing from Restoration Master. If you are like me and are focused on primarily being a healer then go double resto. I am still able to dish out a decent amount of DPS to help my group take down mobs and bosses.

Though when I am soloing I will switch out my second resto staff for dual swords and if I know I'm going to be up against a heavy hitter I will take S&B. In the end you should try every possible avenue for your healing build. Some fights call for additional DPS, some groups are disorganized and the party members love the color red so extra healing is in order.

The best healers know when they need to switch up their skills.

    Hope this helps!

For Templars it's not a necessity. If you prefer something else, use it. I typically have it equipped in one weapon slot (definitely not both!) when healing Dungeons for Rapid Regeneration, but that's about it. Combat Prayer is nice but the duration is too short, so it's not one of my top priorities during intense fights.

In PvP I use DW, because of the 50% nerf to healing. Need max spell power for bigger BoL's.

In PvE I use Destruction Staff for Elemental Drain, Resto for Siphon Spirit + Combat prayer/Healing Springs depending on group setup and dungeon.

For Easy PvE, like most pledges, I use DW since mostly mashing Sweep and only healing a bit on the side when needed. Stuff dies so fast, no need to support. 2-Hander is actually better for dps-healing, but I cant afford to make any more weapons right now :cold_sweat:

    Why are you heavy attacking?

The spell damage you'd get from dual wielding will be greater than the 5% increase from the restoration passive.
